breaking hiatus.
came back and built the entire portfolio myself with @claudeai
has been an interesting journey moving between design and code over the last 6 months.
rolling out more additions over the next few weeks. going to tweet the whole process.

Using the right words can drastically improve the results you get from your agents, which is why I built a vocabulary of 244 terms for aiforui.dev.
If a term is used in a lesson, it gets a dotted underline. You can hover to see its definition or click to see a demo.

Currently in Lisbon with @jjarthur121 for @websummit, the world’s biggest technology event.
We will be showcasing @Replikit_ai and talking about the future of brand and marketing compliance and how we are helping brands stay consistent and save millions in regulatory fines while working with creative agents.
If you’re coming to websummit, do check out our booth at Pavilion 1, Booth A2-48 on Thursday, Nov 12th!

At the start of this year, I decided to expand the scope of my work beyond traditional design.
This comes after more than 11 years of building visual systems, working on design automation workflows and exploring how AI could change creative production, I kept running into problems that couldn’t be solved with design alone.
I wanted to understand what was happening under the hood.
So I spent the last several months reading research papers, learning about machine learning, studying how computers understand and interpret visual information, and exploring where my experience as a designer could contribute to some of the open problems in applied visual AI research.
Along the way, I’ve been building products, experimenting with different models, training some of mine and working through some pretty interesting technical challenges.
It’s been a process of connecting two worlds I find increasingly difficult to separate: design and machine intelligence.
I’m bringing all of that work together in a new portfolio.
This is a reflection of how my practice has evolved, the things I’m building, technical problems I’m solving, and how I think about the future of design as AI continues to change it.
There’s a lot more to come.

it has been wild weekend to see @paper pricing be the topic of design twitter
let me share some of our internal discussions
first: it's really valuable feedback. we want to find the optimal way to price that creates incredible value for the design and agent communities and also supports Paper as a growing team
pricing is hard to get perfectly right. we'll iterate and I'm listening to all feedback
I'm also grateful for how many people are posting about how Paper is worth it. Seriously, you don't know how much it means to me after pouring our lives into this software for the last 2 years.
Paper is a currently 15 insanely talented people who are passionate about design and making the best software we can (we were 5 people earlier this year, growing fast!)
we're going through a transition from "early adopter" stage to being the new default design tool for agentic teams, and some of the decisions we made a year ago need an update
one thing that is good for everyone: the way Paper is currently pricing is mostly working: our revenue growth is off the charts and we're predominantly charging teams who get the most value.
it means your design tool is going to be around in the future. You can invest your time and work in Paper. We can keep funding fixes and new features
so next we'd love to find ways to let Paper be usable for side projects, student work, and dabbling. And only charge for professional work where it's easy to pay for your tools.
So we're discussing:
1. Education program so Paper can be free for students and educators
2. New onboarding flow that shows how pricing works during the wizard so there are no surprises
3. Faster free tier resets - instead of weekly, perhaps it should be daily, or even hourly
You'll see these and other ideas roll out over the coming weeks. Keep the feedback coming!
damn @paper gives you like 10 minutes of MCP usage and then demands payment, what a horrible experience

Saw this LinkedIn comment from the CEO during my time at @treepzglobal, where I worked for three years before moving to Moniepoint.
One thing about me: everywhere I’ve worked, I’ve given 100%, and I’ve always left on good terms.
When I told my managers at Moniepoint I was resigning, they were quite surprised by how graciously I handled the process, and that made me happy, even though they didn't want me to leave. On my last day, I received beautiful messages from colleagues, the VP, and the Head of UI/UX Design. They all had good things to say about me. I got a lot of you are the best designer I have worked with in this team from engineers.
Well, whatever your hands find to do, do it as unto God, not men. Maybe I should write an article on how to quit your job properly.
I believe the way you handle other people’s work says more about who you are than it does about them.
Now, as I build my own thing with that same 100%, I wish myself well ❤️

I don’t use Figma anymore.
For the past six months I’ve been uploading my consciousness directly into the ether and allowing the work to manifest through minor disturbances in the electromagnetic field. You think you are seeing the aurora borealis that's actually my brain waves.
It’s a much more intuitive process. I sit completely still in my office until a founder somewhere develops a sudden inspiration for their brand positioning but in reality it was me clipping them in their brain stem, smiling down on them like one of God's children.
People keep asking what tools I’m using. I understand the question. I used to think that way too. But asking me what tools I use is like asking a glass of water what software is wetness. Its a meaningless question.
I don’t design anymore. I am the pixels. I am the logo. I am the little bit of space between the 'r' and the 'n' that you better make sure is kerned properly. When you increase the font size I experience physical growth. When you cut a vector point, my consciousness goes into quantum superposition.
This is where the industry is going. If you're not on board, you're going to get left behind.
My entire design system now lives in the collective unconscious. There’s no documentation. Your team will simply wake up knowing the button radius. If someone uses the wrong shade of blue they’ll hear a high pitched ringing sound until they correct it.
Developer handoff has been so smooth since I started working this way. My effigy appears at the foot of the engineer’s bed and I open my mouth. The CSS comes out at a frequency only their fillings can receive. We’ve eliminated all meetings.
I no longer send clients presentations. I enter their dreams as a white horse with an already complete interactive brand guidelines. They’re free to leave feedback by speaking into a bowl of room temperature water. I receive it immediately and disagree with it on a cellular level. Transcending this outdated material plane is my standing Tuesday meeting.
Some people are uncomfortable with this. A procurement manager recently asked whether I could provide an SVG of the logo and I just told her to close her eyes and remember the first time she felt truly understood. She looked annoyed and just said their print vendor needed an SVG by today.
A big adjustment has been personal. My wife asked if I could help bring in the groceries. I explained that I now exist simultaneously across every customer touchpoint.
I think there’s a lot of fear right now about what happens when designers stop needing tools. But the people who adapt will be fine. You just have to be willing to let go of a few outdated ideas. Like having a body. Being legally distinguishable from a gradient.
Anyway I am open for new branding projects this quarter.
