The woman who wants to run Berlin wrote in the margins of a Spiegel interview that she and her husband are afraid of Hamas sympathizers in the city, and asked her team if they could cancel the whole interview.
Her office sent the notes to Spiegel by mistake.
The man she was afraid to name is Ibrahim Ibrahim, a PFLP supporter who called Sinwar, the man who led the October 7th massacres a "martyr hero." He showed up at her party's victory celebration in Neukölln. Days later he flew to Istanbul for a conference with Hamas-linked figures.
Berlin's own intelligence service lists the group he works for as a Hamas support organization.
Elif Eralp won the election on September 20. Her party doubled its vote. She is now negotiating with the Greens and SPD to become governing mayor, which means she would be responsible for the city's police and security.
The police advised her not to name names. If the candidate for mayor is too scared to say out loud who is intimidating her, the people doing the intimidating already have more power in Berlin than the people who are supposed to govern it.

This man is a Professor at Cambridge University. He defends Mao's reputation. Mao killed somewhere between 50-70 million of his own citizens. I wonder what his views on Hitler are.
Under “dictator” Mao, life expectancy in China increased by 30 years, literacy rates went from 20% to 70%, steel output grew from 1 million to 23 million tons, 47 million hectares of land was taken from landlords and given to peasants, and China was unified under a strong central state and got nuclear weapons.
Despite his failures, it does not take a rocket scientist to understand why Mao is revered in China.

Mao's Great Leap Forward and related policies caused an estimated 30-45 million famine deaths in 1959-1961 alone, with total excess deaths under his rule often estimated at 40 million or higher.

This is a rare case of a university following through on genuine efforts to challenge antisemitism, where Gaza activism isn't a shield. Ms Maris ongoing refusal to accept the harm she caused and to position herself as the victim speaks to a mentality we see far too often.

Our beloved Francesca Albanese was one of Ms Maris' supporters. Enough said! Note she wasnt removed for calling it genocide, it was a broad spectrum of unhinged behaviour.

Specifically, in a style everyone will recognise, Ms Maris made accusations of "weaponsing" antisemitism and said “you will never intimidate me into not speaking truth to power.”

Ms Maris used her position to send an all-student email on Gaza (accusing Israel of apartheid & genocide, linking sites like Electronic Intifada, just weeks after 7 Oct). Admirably, the university took action.

A documentary on a terror attack against Jews is apparently “too political” to publicise
BBC publicity staff were reportedly unwilling to promote a film commissioned by the broadcaster which spotlights the victims of the brutal 7th October 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel.
According to Jewish documentary-maker Lucie Kon, the BBC’s in-house publicists refused to market the documentary on the Nova festival massacre in southern Israel, titled ‘Surviving October 7th: We Will Dance Again’, due to its “subject matter”, which was allegedly considered “too political”. 364 Israeli civilians were killed at the music festival, and 44 were taken hostage.
One cannot but help recall that the BBC went on to broadcast a documentary that was narrated by the son of a senior Hamas official, whose family was paid BBC licence fee money for his participation. Apparently that propaganda film was not deemed too political by our national broadcaster.
Ms Kon reportedly said that the broadcaster allowed its press team to “abandon their duties”, which led her to hire a freelance publicist to promote the film instead. BBC sources appear to have contradicted this narrative, and have stated that the withdrawal was due to in-house publicists instead finding the content of the documentary too disturbing to watch.
The BBC has reportedly agreed to award Ms Kon a £400,000 payout after she claimed she was bullied out of the Corporation due to antisemitism.
It is telling that our national broadcaster appears happy to reward biased journalists and platform individuals who have allegedly expressed support for terror, but is unable to promote a documentary on the worst atrocity against Jews since the Holocaust.

Here he is at a Preston hustings in June 2024, refusing, when asked, to condemn the Hamas atrocities of 7 October 2023. It's a "no". "People have the right to resist", he says, shamelessly and tellingly invoking anti-Nazi resistance. 2/3

Perhaps Preston Council could tell us what it makes of one of its own councillors, Michael Lavalette, saying Palestinian "resistance" is nothing less than "heroic" in November 2023.
