Deep-seated malevolence rooted in the sense of injury is *the* defining feature of Eastern European moral, economic, and political landscape Post-Soviets are no dumber than their neighbours behind the wall. But they are unbelievably malevolent -> hence, most of 'crazy' stuff

demo days does not make sense if its small size batch. YC demo day makes sense because it would be operationally chaotic to manage 100 fundraises. If you have a 10 company batch, let them take the time to reach the right maturity to fundraise. There’s no such thing as a one fits all, it’s bs and suboptimal for everyone, especially founders

If they actually killed the tiger we would’ve made the backlash to Harambe look like nothing.
🚨TIGER ATTACK UPDATE #2 with significant blood at the scene. Witnesses reportedly TRIED TO STOP the man before he entered the enclosure. Moments later, a tiger had him by the neck. New details are emerging from the deadly attack at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in England. The tiger has reportedly been identified as Altai, a 5-year-old Amur tiger brought to the park from Norway in 2025. Witnesses say the man appeared to be psyching himself up near the viewing platform before allegedly climbing over a barrier. One woman can reportedly be heard saying she tried to stop him. What happened next was horrifying. Visitors, including families with young children, watched as the tiger repeatedly lunged at the man, eventually grabbing him by the neck and dragging him across the enclosure. Witnesses described significant blood at the scene. People shouted in an attempt to distract the animal. Park rangers reportedly fired TWO warning shots to scare the tiger away. Altai retreated and was secured. Emergency crews, including an air ambulance, responded, but the man died at the scene. Police have NOT identified him publicly or established why he entered the enclosure. The tiger was unharmed and reportedly will NOT be euthanized. The park remains closed through Sunday. Authorities are still investigating exactly how and why this tragedy happened. Source: The Sun eyewitness reporting; South Yorkshire Police. The witness accounts, Altai’s identification and the two warning shots are reported details, not all independently confirmed by police.

It’s important to remember that mathematicians do a lot more than just solve open problems, and AI will be able to do all that other stuff better soon too.

Where we see evidence that mathematicians are more interested in the welfare of mathematicians than the improvement of scientific knowledge.
NYU math professor Tristan Buckmaster says OpenAI’s Tuesday drop of 722 AI-generated math papers wiped out entire research programs: “This recent dump of papers on Tuesday destroyed the careers of early career mathematicians.”

Exactly what I have been screaming. Yes, I know it is hard to imagine. But I was simply telling you a truth. Even if it was hidden by all. Until now. Precarious scientists hold back science. You had to pay these people properly. And they are now openly against progress.
JUST IN: Association for Human Mathematics urges all mathematicians to boycott OpenAI following its release of 700+ mathematical research files.

it’s honestly insane how much of the modern tech tree has been unlocked because of a single guy thanks to Elon we have - online payments - mass market electric cars - batteries and grid-scale energy storage - self driving cars and robotaxis - humanoid robots - advanced brain computer interfaces - next generation tunneling - reusable rockets -global satellite internet - basically the modern space industry - Moon and Mars transportation - orbital compute and space data centers - frontier AI - gigantic AI supercomputers - physical world AI and the wildest part is that these branches are now starting to merge there is a very real chance that this one guy ends up being the reason humanity reaches Kardashev II genuinely the man of the millennium

Then it should blow right by the Standard Model of Particle Theory/General Relativity by, say, breakfast tomorow! Because with all our data, it would be rather mysterious/suspicious if it stopped more or less exactly where we humans were stopped dead in our tracks…53 years ago.

Some data we recently assembled on entrepreneurship/compute in Europe: eudata.vercel.app. We hope that one of the useful roles that Stripe can play is in collecting and publishing empirical data pertaining to entrepreneurship and industry in Europe. There's growing appetite to get Europe on a better footing, and cross-sectional comparisons can often shine light on where opportunities lie. If you're interested in this kind of thing, we publish more at stripeeconomics.substack.com.
