#SB1053 would update the definition of a covered "reusable bag" to focus durable bags that can be brought back to stores again, and again and again.

In 2007, San Francisco passed the first plastic bag ban in the United States. Then mayor @GavinNewsom signed that law way before there was ever such a thing as a "thicker plastic bag". nytimes.com/2007/03/28/us/28…

The outflow from Folsom is 'record' only because the upgrades to levees and spillway have allowed this increased flexibility. They are doing exactly what the system was designed to do.

how about Folsom lake stops letting water out at a record pace, adding fuel to flood potential! they have created plenty of room to let the lake fill, and have shown they can drop levels quickly given data from the past 9 days Shasta and Oroville have plenty of capacity as well

Seeing some misinformation about the Sacramento River being high. Yes…it is, but here is the forecast at the I street bridge. After peaking tomorrow it will actually come down, not rise. Some spots along the River that do tend to flood are at risk tomorrrow. Be safe.

The truth is we are generating waste so much faster than our efforts to recycle...the increase in waste is in categories that are not part of traditional recycling systems: textiles, electronics, housewares. These things aren’t considered single-use, but don’t last long either.

California voted to ban Singleuse Plastic Grocery Bags (2016). There is a 'Reusable' bag option, but only if they are durable, recyclable, & made of recycled material. CA Grocers & Reusable Bag Makers must work together to make this a reality or face a total ban. @cawrecycles
