RED STATE CFPB: Dem AGs aren’t the only ones pursuing cases the Trump 2.0 CFPB has dropped. In recent weeks, GOP attorneys general have joined in two big-ticket settlements with Snap Finance and Credit Acceptance Corp., both sued by @ChopraUSA in cases that @russvought dropped.

Voters are complaining of messages that briefly took over their phone screens, reading: “Last chance to prevent a left-wing Arab government. Go out and vote.”

Hey @Meta 👋We are currently hosting a get-out-the-vote rally in Osceola County, home to a large Puerto Rican community, and our #LatinosConAngie @instagram page was suddenly taken down while we were actively posting content from the event.
This page is a critical communication tool for reaching Latino voters and mobilizing our community. With just seven days until Election Day, every minute matters.
We are calling on Meta to immediately restore the page and provide an explanation for its removal. Voters deserve access to critical election information, especially in these final days. @andymstone

NEWS: @hasanthehun is suing @ScottJenningsKY for defamation in DC district court, over Jennings claim that Piker endorsed lynching.
Piker asking for $27.5m in compensatory damages, $45m in punitive damages.
Not all that “wild.” An intermediate state court applied precedent on regulatory takings to a Seattle ordinance and overturned a lower court’s grant of a motion to dismiss. The landlords live to fight another day.
wild ruling out of Seattle that @PHLCouncil needs to read. a builder put $39M into 254 low-income apartments locked at 60% AMI for 30 years. from 2015 to 2018 it worked, collecting ~94% of rent.
then Seattle stacked on "tenant protections": banned criminal background checks, banned winter evictions, required 180 days notice for rent hikes + 3 months relocation pay, and forced the owner to let unscreened roommates move in and take over leases.
result: rent collections dropped from 93.9% to 44.1%!!! the building lost nearly $6M through 2023 ($2.7M in 2023 alone) and is now appraised as functionally worthless. the city bankrupted actual affordable housing lol.
the appeals court just ruled the owner can sue Seattle for an unconstitutional taking. when you strip a landlord's right to screen, collect rent or remove non-paying tenants, it's not "regulation" anymore, you took the building…. Philly has half these laws already 🙄 courts.wa.gov/opinions/pdf/8…

Shapiro is the most transparent “I’m running for President” guy besides Newsom, but his campaign strategy is “win a PA trifecta and then pass a bunch of red meat for Democratic primary voters for two years” so like, knock yourself out, man
BASH: “Are you going to finish out your term if you win?”
SHAPIRO: “Listen, the only thing I'm focused on, I'm going to give you the same answer I've given you multiple times, is this race for governor is winning a trifecta in Harrisburg so I can raise wages, codify abortion rights in Pennsylvania…”
BASH: “Okay, that wasn't a yes for four years.”
SHAPIRO: “That was my answer.”
