For those of you in love with your @Apple #MacBookPro and Macintosh in general - here is a bit of a heads up - your mac has been busily locally compiling data about you and all your contacts and the relationships you have with them (along with imagery, company data, etc.) and gives you zero ability to opt out. Check it out for yourself here - github.com/8rank/iKnow . After hearing about this from Aaron Williamson, I ran it on one of my MBP's and was quite frankly shocked. There is no way this stays within the bounds of GDPR....

Both parties have had full control of the government multiple times in 50 years. Healthcare is still broken. Housing is still unaffordable. Costs go up. Wages are still stagnant. The argument that one side is the solution is no longer believable.

Microsoft has filed a patent for an AI system that could rewrite what people say during livestreams in real time. It could change words depending on who's watching, taking into account their age, location, and language. The idea is to clean up broadcasts by removing filler words, censoring swearing, or even replacing certain words. The AI could also adjust the speaker's lip movements so viewers wouldn't notice anything had been changed.

In the category of why #progressives should NEVER govern - yet another progressive program that hurt our kids long term. The 2009 Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), commonly known as "Cash for Clunkers," was a federal legislative initiative enacted by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama on June 24, 2009. Long-Term Side Effects of Cash for Clunkers Destruction of Affordable Used Inventory: The program permanently removed nearly 700,000 running, working, and low-cost daily drivers (such as older trucks, SUVs, and commuter cars) from the road by mandating that engines be ruined with sodium silicate and the bodies crushed. Used Car Price Inflation: By artificially shrinking the supply of affordable used vehicles, the program spiked used car prices and hurt low-income families, students, and budget-conscious buyers who relied on inexpensive transport. Inter-Temporal Sales Drop ("Stolen" Sales): Economists Atif Mian and Amir Sufi found that the surge in sales was largely short-lived; the program mostly pulled forward purchases by a few months rather than creating new long-term demand, leading to a sharp drop in auto sales immediately after it ended. Shortage of Used Auto Parts: Scrapping hundreds of thousands of vehicles all at once restricted the supply of salvage and replacement parts, making it harder and more expensive to repair older cars remaining on the road. High Cost per Environmental Benefit: Carbon emissions and fuel savings were achieved, but studies by the Brookings Institution and the Foundation for Economic Education noted that the cost per ton of CO2 reduced was vastly more expensive than alternative climate or vehicle policies. Financing Strain and Delinquencies: Pushing some buyers into new-car loans they struggled to maintain resulted in elevated financial pressure and subsequent auto-loan delinquency bumps

All these headlines about states turning blue, and suddenly it’s the end of the world. Funny, because when everything was red, the other side was screaming the exact same thing. Different colors, same circus. I hold some very conservative views and some very liberal ones. I don’t fit neatly into either political box, and I refuse to pretend I do. But that’s the game, isn’t it? Pick a team, defend its nonsense, and vote for policies without questioning the long-term consequences. Because apparently, independent thinking is a threat to party loyalty. And yes, Republicans deserved to lose. They made promises they didn’t keep, dismissed Americans struggling with groceries, gas, and the cost of living, and turned on their own representatives. Then had the audacity to act surprised when voters got fed up. And Democrats, don’t get too comfortable. Let’s not gloss over the prolonged COVID restrictions in Democratic-led states, the businesses that closed, the children whose education was disrupted, soaring fuel prices, and the financial strain families endured. Or the immigration surge, the billions in additional costs to state and local governments, and the pressure on public services. Not every problem began with Democrats, but their leadership certainly shouldn’t escape scrutiny. Meanwhile, we’re funding wars and foreign conflicts while Americans struggle to afford basic necessities. We’re treated to endless vetoes, impeachment battles, investigations, and political vendettas, all conveniently packaged as “justice.” How much is actual accountability, and how much is hatred and retaliation with a government paycheck? Paid for by who other? It’s just a taxpayer-funded shit show. I’m sick of politicians treating public office like a personal battlefield. I’m sick of Americans being manipulated into hating their neighbors while defending politicians who wouldn’t give them the time of day. And I’m especially sick of people excusing behavior from their own party that they’d be absolutely outraged about if the other side did it. And can we talk about America’s ridiculously short political memory? Every election cycle, we develop a convenient case of amnesia. We forget the broken promises, disastrous decisions, wasted tax dollars, and all the ways previous administrations screwed us. Suddenly, the same behavior we condemned four years ago becomes perfectly acceptable because our team is doing it. Corruption doesn’t become acceptable because it wears your favorite color. Hypocrisy doesn’t become patriotism because your party is doing it. I don’t owe Republicans my loyalty. I don’t owe Democrats my loyalty. They owe US accountability. If that makes me politically homeless, I’ll gladly stand outside the circus. Because the government is supposed to serve the American people, not the other way around. So, to everyone celebrating or mourning the election results, here’s my parting thought: Have the election cycle you deserve. There will be advantages and disadvantages regardless of which party you voted for. There will be promises kept, promises broken, and consequences nobody bothered to consider. Different faces, different slogans, but plenty of the same political games. But I do believe a day will come when Americans finally reunite and realize that it’s not red against blue. It’s the American people standing together against government corruption, dishonesty, and abuse of power. It’s about good versus evil. Integrity versus corruption. Truth versus manipulation. And those lines don’t conveniently follow party affiliation. It’s going to take a revolution in how Americans think, vote, and hold their government accountable to change this country. Not another political party promising to save us. Not another election where we simply trade one set of politicians for another. A real, peaceful revolution driven by Americans who refuse to be divided, manipulated, or silenced. Until then, the circus continues. – at Battlefield, MO

KC fans forgot when the refs called a false start on Ben Powers during last year's Christmas game in KC for moving his thumb. 🤡
KC fans complaining about a correct call more than we did this bad call is really damn funny to me.

Watching #Disney burn... Seventeen theme park workers—including employees and former staff from Walt Disney World and Universal Studios—were arrested alongside 264 other individuals during a massive seven-day undercover operation dubbed "Polk Around and Find Out II" conducted by the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida. It was all about human trafficking and pedos. Key Details of the Operation • Total Arrests: The operation resulted in 281 arrests and 488 new charges (including 198 felonies) targeting child sexual predators and human trafficking. • Theme Park Workers: Among those booked, 17 individuals reported working at local theme parks like Disney World and Universal Studios, with seven specifically facing charges related to child sex crimes. • Disney Employees & Former Staff: • Collin Klaco (24): A former Walt Disney World Mickey Mouse character who was arrested after communicating online with an undercover detective posing as a guardian and driving to the location with Disney-branded diapers. • Adam Snyder (24): An employee working in Toy Story Land at Disney World who was arrested after messaging an undercover agent posing as a 14-year-old boy; part of his Disney uniform and badge were found in his vehicle. • Other Staff: Additional current and former Disney/theme park workers were booked across the related prostitution-solicitation and trafficking stings. Disney officials stated that the employees involved have been terminated. • Other Notable Arrests: The operation also netted an Orange County Sheriff's deputy, a youth football and cheerleading coach, and an active-duty Navy service member clickorlando.com/news/local/…

Way, way too many techies are getting caught up in the "Feeds and Speeds" of AI, rather than looking at what their practical "Need" actually is. Notice I said Need, not Want. I can Want a Ferrari all day long, but an F150 gets the job done all day long. Quit worrying about the "Fastest" and get practical, folks....

My youngest daughter is getting married in a few months. As is custom, I am supposed to give a speech at the wedding. This is what I am going with as I wish someone had told us at our wedding nearing 30 years ago: The man sitting beside you is not the man you will grow old with. I mean that your spouse is going to change, the way every person does, and that the work of a long marriage is meeting the new version of them again and again over the years. I know this because I've lived it. The woman I married in my twenties is not the woman I'm married to now. She has been remade a few times over by motherhood, by loss, and by the slow work of becoming herself. So have I. The man she married would barely recognize some of how I think today. For a long time, I treated that as a threat. If she's changing, am I losing the person I chose? It took me years to understand that I never married a fixed person in the first place. I married someone in motion, and so did she. I wish I'd understood at your age. You don't get to keep the person from the wedding day. You get something better if you pay attention. You get to keep meeting them. 27 years in, the re-meeting is my favorite part of being married. It has also been harder work than I understood when I was the one standing at the altar. It is also completely worth it
