This doesn’t mean give up. It means ramp up to even more urgently wrest control of the reins of power from those who created this chaos. For four decades we trusted prior generations to take climate action. All they’ve really done in that time is protect capital and allow the rise of anti-intellectualism and climate denial. They have failed to lead and have proven themselves unfit to continue holding such responsibility. Time for a generation who will place justice, equality and the prevention of ecosystem collapse right at the heart of government, front and centre of every policy decision. Let’s be clear, the very future of humanity and all we hold beautiful in the world is at stake. We must change our politics and create a better world for everybody, one that preserves and strengthens our environment and values every human life. Or face the alternative - the lucky few of us left trying to endure in a technofascist hellscape of mass war, suffering and poverty where five rich guys control everything and preside over a blighted planet.
Stop for one moment and just consider the betrayal of young people. Just think about it. Why should they respect society if this is what we’ve left them.

He wasn’t interrupted once. This is the opposite of the BBC. It’s astonishing. And the other people around the table seem to be listening.
I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points. (clip via @DropSiteNews)

'The New Anti-Anti-Semitism is not really about keeping Jews safe... Racialising Western power defends Jews only contingently, insofar as we play the role it wants of us; hence secular leftwingers & Hasidim... sometimes find themselves outside the offer of protection' - B. Raine
Yesterday, @Councillorsuzie proposed a motion to condemn the Green Party's policy of "Zionism is Racism." Watch in full Susan Hall AM's opening remarks, as she expresses the fear and concern that Britain's Jewish community has to endure as a result of these nasty politics.

This would be perfectly legal for Iran to do btw. If you allow your territory to be used to commit aggression against another state, you are the aggressor too
This is big! Iran has named up to 15 Western bases across nine countries, Ramstein in Germany, RAF Fairford in Britain, sites in Italy and Greece, as targets IF Trump uses them to strike Iran. The order from the Supreme Leader is from Iran updating its previosuly declared 10 military doctrines, now making it 11 military doctrines for a response with "No Geographic limit"... See my latest YouTube Episode #3 where I deep dive into all 11 doctrines. This is a "conditional" threat. Iran strikes those bases ONLY if Trump and USA hits it from these bases first, which makes it a deterrent rather than a war plan. Iran cannot trade blows with the United States directly, so it moves the risk onto the coalition's hosts instead. It puts a quiet question to Germany, Britain, Italy and Greece. Is lending your soil to an American strike worth becoming a target yourself? That is "deterrence by punishment" aimed at the weakest links in the chain. Iran gains more from Germany picturing a strike on Ramstein than from carrying one out. The goal is hesitation, a government and a public that think twice before the base is used. Peel one host away and the strike architecture gets harder to run. European officials say there is "no imminent" threat. Based on Iran's demonstrated and declared missile capabilities, Iran can reach the European continent. None of this is improvised. It follows Iran's OWN military doctrine step by step. I break down why Iran escalates to exactly this, through the 11 military doctrines of Iran and a game theory lens, in my latest video. See full video YouTube video in comments below. Signal, not noise!

@TheGreenParty +3. 💚🌍 Something is shifting. And not just here in Britain. Across the world, we're beginning to see people pushing back. From Brazil to the US, where recent elections have shown the power of movements demanding something fundamentally different. Politics that puts people before wealth, communities before corporate interests, and the future of our planet before the profits of a few. For decades, we've been told that economic growth is the ultimate measure of progress, even as inequality deepens, public services crumble and our planet is pushed towards catastrophe. But what if we stopped accepting that this is simply how the world works? What if we started measuring success by how well people and the planet thrive? I genuinely believe we're entering a period of extraordinary possibility. The old political and economic consensus is being challenged, and we have an opportunity not simply to replace those in power, but to fundamentally rethink what power is for. That's why I'm backing @ZackPolanski and the Greens. If you share that vision, get involved. Join, speak up, organise and help build the movement. A better world isn't just possible. It's ours to build. 💚 join.greenparty.org.uk/

In light of the 'Zionism is not Racism' motion being brought by Conservative Councillor Hannah Galley @HRGalley & Labour Councillor David Boothroyd @220_d_92_20 to the upcoming meeting of Westminster City Council on 11th November, I have submitted an urgent legal query to the council's legal department. There are serious legal deficiencies regarding the Notice of Motion 12(a), "Zionism is not Racism," scheduled for debate on 11 November 2026. Local authorities do possess broad powers of debate, but they must exercise their functions in strict compliance with the Equality Act 2010. Adopting this motion as currently drafted risks placing Westminster City Council in breach of its statutory duties under Section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (the Public Sector Equality Duty), specifically regarding its adverse impacts on Palestinian, British-Palestinian, Arab, anti-Zionist Jews, and associated Muslim residents who hold protected characteristics of race, nationality, and belief. There is also a complete failure to Conduct an Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) on this matter. The motion creates a hostile environment that, for many Palestinian residents of Westminster, erases the historical and ongoing manifestation of Zionism and the directly associated displacement, statelessness, and systemic inequality experienced by Palestinians as a result of Zionism in practice. For a local authority to officially declare that this ideology is entirely absolved of discriminatory character effectively marginalises and silences the lived experiences of Palestinian and British-Palestinian constituents. This risks creating an exclusionary public sphere, potentially amounting to unlawful harassment under Section 26 of the Equality Act. By wading into a deeply polarising geopolitical debate to adopt a singular perspective, the Council actively inflames community tensions. Rather than promoting understanding, this motion pits the protected characteristics of one local demographic against another, directly undermining Section 149(1)(c). The proposed motion erroneously treats the Jewish community as a political monolith by conflating Jewish identity inherently with Zionism. In doing so, the Council fails to consider the severe adverse impacts of this motion on anti-Zionist Jewish residents within the borough. Additionally, the motions use and reliance upon the IHRA definition to pre-emptively declare that specific political viewpoints regarding Zionism cannot be scrutinised or categorised as discriminatory by members of the public or political parties suppresses legitimate political discourse and free speech. This triggers further compliance issues under Article 10 (Freedom of Expression) of the Human Rights Act 1998. It is incumbent upon @CityWestminster's legal department and the councillors proposing this motion to immediately withdrawal or defer Motion 12(a) until a rigorous, independent Equality Impact Assessment can be carried out.

This morning I searched "genocide" on the BBC News app. Not a single article on Gaza in the results shown below. And if you think we're just talking about perceived @BBC bias towards Israel, consider this: @KarishmaPatel99 – resigned over Gaza coverage, exposing serious editorial failures. @bbounenni – BBC North Africa correspondent who resigned, citing his professional conscience. 111 BBC journalists – anonymously backed an open letter condemning the corporation's Gaza coverage and editorial decisions. 400+ media figures, including Miriam Margolyes, Alexei Sayle and Mike Leigh, demanded the removal of BBC board member Robbie Gibb over impartiality concerns. Ramita Navai and @bendepear – publicly condemned the BBC for shelving Gaza: Doctors Under Attack, subsequently broadcast by Channel 4. Akinola Davies Jr – had his words "Free Palestine" edited out of the BBC's BAFTA broadcast. And in recent weeks, we've seen even more extraordinary examples. @bbclaurak's hostile interrogation of @ZackPolanski over the Green Party's Zionism motion, repeatedly challenging his position while he attempted to bring the discussion back to the suffering of Palestinians. @vicderbyshire interrupting @BernieSanders as he condemned Israel's extremist government, stepping in to remind him that Israel would deny being extremist. It's fucking endless. The BBC continues to suppress language that accurately describes Israel's actions, stifles critical commentary, and amplifies Israeli officials and pro-Israel commentators, while Palestinian voices are marginalised or silenced altogether. Those defending Israel are given a microphone. Those challenging its actions face hostile interrogation. At what point do we stop calling this perceived bias and start demanding serious institutional complicty in war crimes? Who holds the BBC accountable when the institution tasked with scrutinising power is itself protecting it? #GazaGenocide #FreePalestine

Some important context for US readers. The Greens were condemned in this vote by reps from 4 parties: Labour, Conservative (Tories), Lib Dems and Reform. It's ridiculous these parties believe they can lecture anyone on racism and prejudice. Reform are basically British Trumpians. They repeatedly demonise migrants and asylum seekers. Their sweet-spot is Islamophobia and using immigration to distract from the failures of neo-liberalism. Their councillors are often caught online or in undercover stings saying flamboyantly racist things about re-migration. Nigel Farage, the Reform leader, is an ally and friend of Trump. The Tories were, during their time in government, responsible for the "hostile environment" policies that led to the Windrush scandal, when life-long residents in the UK who were immigrants from the Caribbean (or their descendants) who arrived legally in the 1960s, but were then deported for a lack of documents. The leader of the Tory group on the London Assembly is Susan Hall, who ran unsuccesfully for Mayor. In 2023 polling showed that two-thirds of Londoners thought she was the wrong choice for Mayor because she had shared material considered racist and Islamophobic online. The Labour Party still refuses to recognise a genocide in Gaza. Of all UK parties they are arguably the most complicit in Israel's genocide under Sir Keir Starmer's leadership. The Labour Party is responsible for massive crackdowns on Gaza protests, proscribing Palestine Action as a terrorist group and recently banning Hasan Piker from entering the UK. Approximately 4,000 people have been arrested for holding signs expressing support for Palestine Action and the famous author Sally Rooney now cannot sell her novels in the UK because she has expressed support for PA. The Labour Party has just introduced the most draconian anti-immigrant and asylum reforms in a generation. The Labour Party has systematically expelled anti-Zionist Jews as members. In the recent local elections, they colluded with the press to accuse Green candidates as antisemitic for, among other things, expressing support for a High Court decision overturning the proscription of Palestine Action on free speech grounds. The Lib Dems are, to be fair, somewhat better than that shower, but they were participants in the 2010-2015 Coalition government that introduced austerity that has destroyed living standards and the public realm, much of which disproportionately impacted marginalised and minority groups. It's currently leader, Ed Davies, served in the Coalition government. The Greens were the fastest, loudest and most uncompromising Party calling out Israel's genocide in Gaza. They call for total arms embargo on Israel. They oppose harsh immigration reforms and neo-liberalism, which marginalises minority groups, and routinely speak out avarice demonising asylum seekers. It's leadership team is made up of Polanski (an anti-Zionist Jew), Moithin Ali (a Muslim councillor from Leeds) and Rachel Millward. The "Zionism is Racism" motion is obviously worthy of debate. But being condemned by this lot for racism is absurd.

WHEN OPPOSING GENOCIDE BECOMES EXTREMISM, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE THOSE WHO DEFEND IT? I completely relate to @y_alibhai words here. This is the stuff that keeps me awake at night. And it's why I've been up since 5am writing this. I can see the impact of our government's increasingly aggressive crackdown on anti-Israel and anti-Zionist speech. But let's call it what it actually is. It's about being anti-genocide. Pro-humanity. I recently expressed my absolute rage at the Bell Review, which risks turning the question of genocide into a matter of political impartiality, where teachers are expected to present competing perspectives on atrocities rather than unequivocally defend fundamental human rights. The potential chilling effect on teachers and children is horrifying. Then we have the appalling smears of antisemitism directed at @TheGreenParty and @ZackPolanski, demonstrating just how readily criticism of Israel can be reframed as prejudice and political opposition delegitimised. And we're seeing the consequences everywhere. As Yasmin so powerfully describes, fear is doing the work of censorship. People are frightened to protest. Journalists, commentators and even left-leaning media and podcasts appear increasingly reluctant to discuss Gaza, fearful of the accusations, backlash and professional consequences that might follow. And this is precisely what makes it so dangerous. You don't need to silence everyone when you've created an environment in which people silence themselves. But what really terrifies me is how this fear has become intertwined with something straight out of Orwell's 1984. WAR IS PEACE. FREEDOM IS SLAVERY. IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH. Three chilling slogans emblazoned on the Ministry of Truth in Orwell's dystopian world. The ultimate expression of DOUBLETHINK. The ability to accept two completely contradictory beliefs as true, allowing those in power to manipulate reality, invert morality and make the unthinkable seem perfectly normal. Sound familiar? To oppose genocide is extremist. To excuse the slaughter of Palestinian civilians is moderation. To demand accountability under international law is radical. To shield allies from that same law is responsible diplomacy. To protest the killing of children is threatening. To continue arming those responsible is legitimate government policy. To call out racism and collective punishment is antisemitism. To dismiss Palestinian suffering is political realism. We've reached a point where the moral compass hasn't simply been lost. It's being deliberately turned upside down. And the most frightening part is how quickly we're becoming accustomed to it. Because when ordinary people begin to fear speaking out against atrocities, while those defending or enabling them occupy the respectable political centre, something has gone profoundly wrong with our democracy. We cannot allow fear to become silence, silence to become acceptance, and acceptance to become complicity. Because history will not judge us by how carefully we avoided controversy. It will judge us by what we were prepared to stand against. Yasmin's article is well worth reading. Fear stopped me from going to the Macklemore Free Palestine concert. I now regret that. The govt is throttling support for Palestnians. This was one key issue in the US elections. Lessons for Burnham. My column inews.co.uk/opinion/protest-…

Perhaps the most heartless BBC interruption in this compilation is this one: Bushra Khalidi, Oxfam Policy Lead for Palestine, explains how his family in Gaza have never been allowed to leave Gaza, and how Israel is besieging the Strip and causing mass displacement. The BBC: "I'm sorry this is obviously very personal, difficult situation for you and your family, and as you would understand as well, Israel would say well, they can't live next door to Hamas." There is nothing journalistic about this. There is no world where that is a rational, humane response. The presenters and journalists at the BBC are reading off a strict script where they have to staunchly defend the apartheid entity at all costs. They have weaponised the term "impartiality", which is what they cite when they launder propaganda. But as we've proven, this "impartiality" has only worked one way. They interject much less when they platform genocide deniers, and have never volunteered the other things that "Israel says", such as the genocidal statements from Netanyahu, Gallant, Katz, Smotrich and Herzog.
It’s hard to grasp the BBC’s systematic attempt to launder Israeli propaganda until you see the sheer scale of it. Here's a compilation of them doing it at 2x speed. The latest was on Newsnight on 4 November. When Bernie Sanders called Israel’s government extremist, Victoria Derbyshire answered for it: “And the Israeli government would deny that they are extremists.” As this video shows, BBC presenters repeatedly do this as guests describe Israel’s crimes: “Israel would say.” “Israel would deny.” “They would reject that.” We counted 70 of these denials and justifications in 52 aired interviews. The BBC calls this impartiality. But in not one of those 52 did a presenter raise any of these words from Israel’s own leaders: - “We are fighting human animals.” Yoav Gallant, 9 October 2023 - “It is an entire nation out there that is responsible.” Isaac Herzog, 12 October 2023 - “They will not receive a drop of water or a single battery until they leave the world.” Israel Katz, 13 October 2023 - “Remember what Amalek did to you.” Benjamin Netanyahu, 3 November 2023 - Starving two million people in Gaza until the hostages came back might be “justified and moral”. Bezalel Smotrich, 5 August 2024 On 10 October 2023, Tahani Mustafa told the BBC that Israeli forces were not distinguishing civilians from fighters. The presenter replied: “They would reject that.” Mustafa then had to bring up Gallant’s “human animals” herself. The BBC supplied the denial. The guest had to supply Israel’s own words. That is cherry-picking. The Royal Charter requires the BBC to be impartial, and the public pays for it through the licence fee. In these interviews, it handed its audience Israel’s denials and left out its leaders’ own words, during a genocide streamed live to the world. We have archived the BBC’s coverage for three years, and we are now counting all of it: 50,000 video clips and many more written excerpts. We are calling this first part: "BBC: The Would Say Files". Handing Israel its denials is only one of the ways the BBC launders Israeli propaganda, so we will count every other technique too. Over the next few weeks, we will announce each milestone as we complete the report. These are the first results, with every clip, quote and source: newscord.org/editorials/bbc-…

This is entirely correct. The ideal society has no economists.
Economic populism also means dethroning economics. It’s not the job of economists to dictate how our economies should be run but to find solutions to implement democratically determined goals.

I am in a long line of antizionist Jews who political opponents try to make people hate. But I wont be quiet, not on criticism of Israel, nor on tackling the extreme wealth and poverty pay that both the Tories and now Labour have overseen in office.
🇬🇧 “Is it now the Labour position that a genocide is not racist?” Green Party leader Zack Polanski confronted Conservative and Labour politicians at the London Assembly on Thursday after Conservative Susan Hall introduced a motion condemning the Greens’ decision to define Zionism as racism. Hall called the Green Party’s position “abhorrent” and argued it threatened Jewish Londoners. Polanski, who is Jewish, accused Hall of weaponizing antisemitism and challenged Labour members over their government’s continued military support for Israel amid the genocide in Gaza. The Assembly passed Hall’s motion 19–3, with just the three Green members voting against it.

They're becoming increasingly hysterical as their sole weapon - the smear that anti-Zionisn is antisemitism - crashes and burns all around them. This one, not Jewish, accuses a Jewish man of 'not caring about his community'. It would be funny were it not so profoundly sinister.
The Greens "Zionism is Racism" motion is a disgrace. As politicians, it is our responsibility to confront such insidious hate, and we will do so, @Councillorsuzie tells the London Assembly

The US regime is a threat to us all. Their next move is to create a siege against one of the world's oldest civilisations and home to 90 million people. As they've done with Cuba the aim is to destroy peoples lives in the hope their oligarchy can one day steal its resources.

🚨 THIS SPEAKS VOLUMES! Let alone the @BBC's failure to consider A SINGLE Palestinian voice over the Zionism is Racism motion, they quoted the "subjective" voices of @BoardofDeputies and the Isreali government. And no, the Board are not deputisiing for British Jews at all. They're advocating on behalf of the Israeli government and Zionism. Don't believe me? See the link below. A reminder... Judaism is a religion. Israel is a terrorist state. And Zionism is a racist, genocidal, political ideology being invoked to slaughter and displace Palestinians. The BBC are running propaganda to cover for a genocide that our @UKLabour government is complicit in. Who is holding THEM to account?? @bbclaurak @ZackPolanski @andyburnham #GazaGenocide #FreePalestine xitter.gq/JonWiltshire_/status/2…
The BBC received more than 700 complaints after it failed to speak to any Palestinians in a debate on whether 'Zionism is racism', it has been revealed 🗣️ 'Laura Kuenssberg asked how the motion lands with Jewish people.
