Ant and Julius usually didn’t even come out for their own introductions. It’s really common that guys stay back in the tunnel or locker room

Third quarter thoughts 99-81 Wolves lead -Joan, Rudy, Trey have taken 3 shots in 48 minutes. -just 1 turnover for LaMelo through 3 -Wolves defense might be pretty darn good, Giannis with 28 but no one else on the heat has been going off Post game live after the final horn

Half time thoughts 69-59 Wolves lead Wolves big 3 of Ball, Edwards, McDaniels are 20/33 for 50 points on 40% shooting from three. Ball just 1 turnover, Gobert 0 shots and Edwards leading the team in +\- at +16 Wolves out rebounding heat 24-20 with the Wolves snagging 7 O boards

End of 1 observations 34-32 Wolves lead -Starting 5 for the Wolves is electric, tons of shooting, movement, defense looked solid. -McDaniels might benefit the most from Ball, I don’t think we will have 9 min stretches with McDaniels not touching the ball. -bench, yeeesh, Beringer looks wild and all over the place… good and bad. Shannon Jr has mad some mistakes. Ayo and Lyles seemed fine but the rotation looks far from solidified.

Season #3 on the beat for me, and I’ll join Jon in thanking everyone, Wolves/Lynx and hoops fans that make this possible. I’m doing this full time now because of all of you that have engaged, supported and enjoyed the content and reporting. None of it is possible without you!
Season No. 23 on the beat about to commence. Always grateful for the support. Very excited to see where this one goes, starting “down in MIA at that Heat game on wood.”

The Wolves have a lot of players on long-term contracts... - Ayo Dosunmu, 5 years - Jaden McDaniels, 4 years - Anthony Edwards, 3 years - LaMelo Ball, 3 years - Joan Beringer, 3 years then restricted free agency - Terrence Shannon Jr., 2 years then restricted free agency Those players will be up for extensions before that. But that's still long-term commitments relative to other teams. Asked Dosunmu this morning about how the Wolves having many of their main pieces under contract long-term informed his decision to re-sign with Minnesota this summer. "That was a definitely a part of the pie that made my decision even more firm... Those guys being here long-term, when we're the same age, around the same draft class -- all those variables just made the decision to stay even more firm."

The Timberwolves rank 28th in broadcast accessibility, only outranking two other DAZN teams with fewer national over-the-air games Think it's a real bummer. One of the most fun Wolves' rosters in team history with outstanding broadcast team and fewer people can watch than ever

One year extension sets Jaden McDaniels up to hit free agency in 2030, at age 29, right in the middle of his “prime”. 40 million for one added year might seem like a lot but if McDaniels proves he can be a second or third option this year, he’s setting himself up for a massive payday.
Minnesota Timberwolves All-Defense forward Jaden McDaniels has agreed to a one-year, $40 million extension that will keep him under contract through the 2029-30 season, agents Nima Namakian of Innovate Sports and Bill Duffy of WME Basketball tell ESPN.

Maya Caldwell on the importance of showing up in the community, and the refurbished Brian Coyle Center at Cedar Riverside “I mean I’ve been in these kids shoes before, I know the impact that it has… it’s really important to have people pour into you and when you have more than just your parents, whether it’s councilors, a coach, siblings, friends, a community. What you build in places like this, it’s so important, you’re going to hold on to those relationships for a long time”
