Unstoppable Domains just delivered the ultimate slap in the face to the early believers who funded their entire ecosystem. After years of selling the web3 domain dream, they just announced they aren't even applying to ICANN for their flagship, legacy TLDs like crypto, wallet, nft, bitcoin, dao, polygon, blockchain, unstoppable, and zil. So let's call this what it is: Daylight robbery!! 🤷🏽‍♂️ The Promise: We bought these domains as long term investments, trusting that Unstoppable would bridge web3 to web2 and fight for ICANN recognition. The Reality: Instead of fighting for the original holders, they abandoned the core TLDs entirely. Once someone else eventually wins and deploys these TLDs in web2, our web3 names will instantly become obsolete conflicting paperweights. Absolutely worthless trash, not even worth the digital space it uses on the blockchain. Zero Respect for Early Backers: Long term holders get zero refunds. Their refund window conveniently only covers domains bought after March 2025. They used our early capital to build their company, and now long time supporters are left holding worthless digital air 🤷🏽‍♂️ To make things worse, personally for me at least, during the earlier refund rounds in late 2025 & early 2026, I chose Promo Credits over cash because I still believed in their vision. I rolled those credits into .agent domains. Now .agent isn't proceeding either, and because they were bought with promo credits, I'm likely locked out of an actual cash refund entirely. If Unstoppable had applied and lost at ICANN, that would be an acceptable risk of the game. We'd understand. But abandoning the original community without even trying, while locking early adopters out of meaningful restitution, is pure evil. I'm so mad and angry that I don't even want to type anymore. Chao!
