Watch out, Amazon. Tesla’s got its eye on the delivery space.
In a recent Munro Live interview, Tesla's Lars Moravy and Eric Earley shared some Optimus nuggets:
- Optimus's battery is a single ~2.5 kWh module, and unlike in a car (where the pack is a quarter to a third of the cost), it's not a major cost of the robot.
- Near-term, Optimus is expected to plug in and charge the robotaxi fleet
- Beyond charging, it "might service the car, might add in the delivery space"
- "You think of Cyber Cab, Optimus, and Robo Van, that trifecta will be incredible.", "And you add Tesla Semi to that for long distances."
- "Maybe we're a transportation company. It's redefining how everyone thinks of that."

Amazon Zoox robotaxi, a Google Waymo car, and a Tesla Cybercab became trapped in a viral face-to-face standoff on a narrow city street in 🇺🇸Austin, Texas, showcasing a classic real-world artificial intelligence deadlock.
The vehicles met head-on on a narrow side street constricted by cars parked on both sides. Because each company programs its vehicles with proprietary decision-making algorithms, the vehicles struggled to establish right-of-way protocol without a human driver to initiate a courtesy gesture or negotiate positioning.
Eyewitnesses noted that the Waymo continued to creep aggressively forward instead of yielding. Meanwhile, the Tesla Cybercab - which runs entirely unsupervised on vision-based software without a steering wheel or pedals - was seen reversing to clear space for the others.
Observers also pointed out that Zoox’s unique bidirectional carriage design makes native reversing straightforward, though both it and the Waymo remained locked in position for several minutes before traffic could clear.
This event highlights a prominent operational barrier for autonomous fleets: multi-platform coordination. While current robotaxis excel at perception and safety when interacting with fixed obstacles or rule-following humans, they struggle when they encounter another AI entity governed by a completely different set of non-standardized routing protocols. Similar standoffs between Zoox and Waymo vehicles have previously been documented in San Francisco, indicating that “algorithm clashes” are becoming a frequent consequence of multi-fleet urban deployments.
Can the robotaxi companies program “courtesy gestures” as part of their algorithms?
🌩️ THE BIG STORM CYCLE IS OVER. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
The 19–25 October storm cycle arrived when Cynoptec forecast it would.
Now the pattern is changing.
⛈️ Storms will continue across much of Australia, but they're expected to become more isolated and less intense.
🌡️ Mid-November brings a forecast hotter, drier phase, with Stu warning that national heat records could be tested across the interior.
🌩️ The next widespread storm systems aren't expected until the second half of November.
And here's the important part.
Stu explains that Cynoptec's long-range forecasting focuses on WHEN the rain is expected to arrive, not just what ENSO and other background climate drivers suggest.
That's the thinking behind what we've been building.

W 2016 roku Land Rover zabił klasycznego Defendera. Brytyjski miliarder wkurzył się na to przy piwie, zaprojektował własną terenówkę od zera, a dziś jego autami jeździ polska Straż Graniczna.
Kiedy z taśmy w Solihull zjeżdżał ostatni prawilny Defender, Jim Ratcliffe – szef giganta chemicznego Ineos i fanatyk off-roadu – siedział ze znajomymi w londyńskim pubie The Grenadier.

One of the strongest El Niño events on record. Positive Indian Ocean. Every textbook said dry spring for the east.
The ABC now reports 2026 is on track to be Australia’s wettest El Niño year on record, the first in 27 El Niño years since 1900 with above-average winter-spring rain.
Cynoptec members knew the forecast as early as March 2026.
The 19 to 25 October High Energy Period arrived on schedule. Rainfall recorded across all states and territories.
Cynoptec does not forecast from the background drivers and that's our advantage. The long range forecast identifies when the weather is due and how it should form, and then it does - right on cue.
This week:
Wed 28 Oct: severe storms and the season’s first real hail risk through Central Queensland, the Coalfields, Mackay Whitsundays, Wide Bay and the Southeast Coast
Thu to Fri: the next trough drops through the SA pastoral districts into the Mid North and South East
Sat 31 Oct to Sun 1 Nov: the storm cycle returns through the Riverina, Central West and Northwest Slopes and Plains and into Victoria
First week of November: storms continue for inland Queensland, NSW and Victoria
WA dries out, right on its normal schedule
Frost risk low, isolated light frost only in the highest alpine and Tasmanian valleys Tue and Wed
Then mid-November heat, records likely tested through the interior, and the main event from 25 November into early December. Heavier than October. That one is already on the map too.
If you want the dates before the next one lands, this is the week to get in. For 48 hours only, 30% off your first year of Weather Pro Plus or Weather Gold, full access to the Cynoptec Climate Intelligence Model and everything it has mapped ahead. Ends Wednesday midnight. Cynoptec's Climate Intelligence™ forecast vs reality
From 21 to 26 October, the new Cynoptec long-range model had an inland system sweeping through the interior, South Australia Victoria and NSW.
The result? Falls landed right on target. Northeast Victoria around 30 mm. Victoria 35 to 40 mm. The Riverina 17 to 20 mm.
Storm season is tricky. One postcode cops 100 mm while the farm down the road gets under 5 mm. That’s why Cynoptec gives you a central value for the typical rain, plus a wide range for when the severe cells fire up.
And the storms aren’t done yet. Into the end of the month they shift east and northeast. Southeast and Central Queensland, Northeast NSW, the Warrego and Darling Downs are next in line for 15 to 30 mm, with isolated severe cells capable of 100 to 150 mm. Intense little storms are also possible through NSW troughs, parts of SA and interior WA.

🚨How do banks create money ?
💸💰💸💰💸💰💸
🚨Prof Werner is incomparable.
In the 5000 yr history of banking no-one has ever done an imperical study of banking to show where the money comes from- until now. Step up the rock star economist Professor Richard Werner. His amazing qualifications and held positions makes the eye water. He is truly the authority on this subject. Banks are thought of as deposit taking entities who lend money - but that is just wrong. His assessment - Banks dont lend money but they misrepresent (lie) to their customers and say that they do.
A very interesting topic on the mathematics of protein production in Australia.
Mike Archer stood at the edge of the wheat field as the last of the light drained out of the sky, notebook open, boots sunk a little in the loose soil. The numbers had been circling in his head for weeks, and now they were settling into something that felt unavoidable.
He had spent years around bones—fossil ones, mostly—reading the long record of life and death written into rock. Living animals were different. These were the ones still running around under the grain.
Every few years the mice arrived in force. Not a scattering, but a plague: hundreds to a thousand per hectare in the worst seasons, dense enough that you could hear the rustle when you walked the rows. Farmers poisoned them.
There was little choice; the grain would otherwise vanish into the burrows. Archer had pulled the figures together from the CSIRO data and the plague records. Average it out, account for the four-year cycle, the fraction of land baited, the kill rate once the baits went down. It came to something on the order of a hundred mice dead per hectare each year just to keep the wheat growing.
He did the protein math next, because that was the only fair comparison. A hectare of wheat, average yield, usable protein fraction. Then the same exercise for a steer raised on the rangelands that would not grow crops anyway—native grasses, sparse cover, one animal delivering a carcass that translated into tens of kilograms of protein. Two animals, maybe a couple more when you counted the occasional losses, for every hundred kilos of usable protein from the cattle. Fifty-odd mice for the same amount from the grain.
He closed the notebook. The ratio sat there, stubborn: roughly twenty-five times more sentient deaths on the grain side, at least under Australian conditions and the numbers he could defend. It was not a defense of every feedlot or every industrial barn. It was narrower than that—rangeland cattle versus the mice that died so the vegetarian plate could stay free of them. Still, it inverted the usual story.
Archer walked back toward the vehicle. The field looked empty now, the grain cut, the stubble pale. Somewhere under it, or already scavenged, were the mice that had not made it through the season. He had no particular fondness for the argument he was about to make public. It complicated things people preferred simple. But the count was the count, and he had spent too long reading the dead to pretend the living ones did not leave a record too.
The piece would run under a blunt title. Someone would call it a provocation. He already knew that. What he had not yet decided was how many of the people who read it would actually check the arithmetic before they answered.
