SK Hynix just said the memory shortage will last until 2030. It also said DRAM and high-bandwidth memory are effectively sold out through 2029.
It has signed long-term agreements with 14 major customers, including large cloud providers. The deals typically run five years, with some extensions under discussion. Pricing reflects market conditions within agreed ranges, and customer deposits help ensure purchase plans turn into actual orders.
Those agreements already cover more than 50% of planned capacity for 2027 and 2028. When current negotiations are included, DRAM and high-bandwidth memory through 2029 are effectively sold out.
The company expects demand to stay ahead of supply through 2030 because advanced process complexity and new fab construction take time. Near-term demand comes from enterprise and personal AI; longer-term demand comes from physical AI such as autonomous driving and robotics. HBM4 12-layer products are shipping on schedule.
M15X capacity is set to reach maximum by year-end. HBM4 is expected to become the main high-bandwidth memory product by volume and revenue this quarter.
Next year’s capital spending is expected to rise substantially, including the start of the first Yongin fab and more extreme-ultraviolet process capacity at existing plants. Spending levels and timing will be set against the multi-year demand visibility from customer talks.
The comments effectively push back on peak-cycle worries tied to China’s CXMT.
CXMT said on October 10 it would release a server DRAM module using a denser 4F² cell structure by year-end. SK Hynix shares fell more than 10% on October 13.
Industry views still treat CXMT’s threat as unproven: the company has not disclosed capacity, speed, or customers, its process is judged two to three generations behind, it cannot use extreme-ultraviolet tools, and server products require customer qualification.
Eugene Investment said CXMT’s influence is more likely to matter after 2029–2030. KB Securities projects 389 trillion won in operating profit for SK Hynix next year and notes that Samsung and SK Hynix now trade at roughly 3 times earnings, levels last seen in deep market stress.

$SKHY during earnings call:
"We believe our share price today is undervalued, not adequately reflecting our earnings and cash flow. That is why we decided that share acquisition and cancellation would be an effective way of raising the per share value.
The acquisition will continue every quarter within the annual size, and the size of the quarterly acquisition will be determined by the board of directors considering such factors as the share price, valuation, cash flow, and so forth."
Couldn't agree more.
It was undervalued even in June.

Korean semiconductor stocks are looking RIDICULOUSLY undervalued right now.
According to Goldman Sachs, Korea’s semiconductor sector is trading at just 2.8x forward earnings, the LOWEST valuation in more than 20 years. To put that into perspective, the historical average is around 10x earnings, meaning investors are paying less than a third of what they historically have for these companies. And what’s crazy is that this is happening during one of the biggest memory supercycles we’ve ever seen. The market is essentially pricing in a major decline in future earnings because investors don’t believe today’s memory prices and profit margins are sustainable.
During its latest earnings call, SK Hynix said its DRAM and HBM supply is effectively sold out through 2029, with HBM demand more than DOUBLE what it can currently supply. Management also expects memory shortages to persist through 2030. And even SK Hynix believes its stock is undervalued. The company announced plans to return approximately $75 billion to shareholders this year, including more than $45 billion through share buybacks and cancellations. Management believes its share price doesn’t reflect the earnings and cash flow the business is generating, and plans to continue repurchasing shares every quarter.
Now, memory has always been a cyclical business, and there’s no guarantee these elevated margins will last forever. But I think the market is underestimating just how long this cycle could last. If you want to see how I’m investing around the memory supercycle, check out my full portfolio below.

According to Korean media, Samsung and SK Hynix are now trading at around 3 TIMES earnings.
KB Securities calls it a financial crisis"level of undervaluation.
Samsung is down 41% from its peak, and SK Hynix is down 56%.
That is happening while both companies are about to report some of the biggest profits in their history.
KB thinks the two companies could hand shareholders another 120 trillion won, with 80 trillion from Samsung and 40 trillion from SK Hynix.
The market is pricing these stocks like the memory cycle is already over but the order books are saying something very different.

3 "clearing events" are coming:
1. Midterms - historically - 100% of the time since 1950s - markets are nicely higher over next 6-12 months
2. AI funding concern - supply is available; market being judicious; pricing adjusting; already have had correction
3. Fed - rate decisions in coming will provide clarity
Bullish:
- Correction has already happened
- Equal-weight S&P has started outperforming over last 2 weeks
- Broadening trade starting to work
- Earnings coming in strong
- AI trade is durable

SK Hynix just pushed back hard on the idea that the memory cycle is peaking. It says high-bandwidth memory is effectively sold out through 2029 and shortages will last until 2030.
The company posted record results: revenue of 104.62 trillion won, up 328% year-over-year and 32% from the prior quarter, and operating profit of 83.33 trillion won, up 632% year-over-year. Operating margin reached 79.7%. CEO Kwak Noh-jung said long-term supply agreements are turning customer trust into a different growth structure.
It has signed long-term agreements with 14 customers. Those deals already cover more than half of planned capacity for 2027 and 2028. When current negotiations are included, DRAM and high-bandwidth memory volume through 2029 is effectively sold out. Customer requests for high-bandwidth memory are running at twice available supply. CFO Kim Woo-hyun said feasible demand growth next year looks like mid-20% for DRAM bits and high-teens for NAND, with supply lagging through 2030.
On the concern that some buyers might switch from 12-layer to 8-layer stacks, the company said total capacity needed does not fall. Fewer layers per stack simply means more stacks, which raises demand for base dies and back-end processing. It also noted that major hyperscaler cloud revenue grew 30% to 80% year-over-year and that AI paid users keep rising. Global cloud capital spending is projected to rise more than 60% next year, and the AI data-center infrastructure market is expected to grow at a 40% annual rate through 2030. Investment is also spreading beyond a few big tech firms to enterprise, sovereign AI, and on-premise demand.
The company announced an additional 60 trillion won in shareholder returns, split evenly between dividends and buybacks. Combined with the earlier 40 trillion won buyback and cancellation, the total for the year reaches 100 trillion won. Net cash stands at 98.7 trillion won.

If SK Hynix has already locked in more than half of 2027 and 2028 capacity and says DRAM and high-bandwidth memory are effectively sold out through 2029, does the next constraint stay on how fast it can add cleanroom space, or on whether those long-term agreements hold if any major customer delays its own build-out?

Cantor on SK hynix: “At 3x CY27 Earnings, the Market has Already Priced in the Downturn While the Cycle is Just Getting Started”
“We also understand ongoing concerns regarding sustainability of AI spending, fears of peaking GM’s, and risk of too aggressive capex – but our view is this current AI cycle is elongated and durable, supported by TSMC/HBM/Substrate constraints, that GM’s will remain elevated, and that equipment lead times extending now to 1-2yrs depending on the product will limit the capacity added."
"Put it all together, and we now model CY27 ADR-adjusted EPS of $42.50 – meaning shares only trade only ~3x our estimate (and this doesn’t reflect share repurchases yet). We reiterate our Overweight rating and $250 price target.”

Adam Carolla tells The Atlantic to “F*CK OFF” and “EAT SH*T” for demanding you forgive the people who tried to destroy your life over a COVID shot.
He shows their previous headlines on the screen, and it’s not pretty.
CAROLLA: “Of course all the people who wanted everyone drawn and quartered for not getting vaccinated or wearing a mask want a f*cking amnesty.”
“Suck my dick, f*ck off, Atlantic, and eat sh*t, because you guys all deserve whatever the f*ck you’re getting.”
“BUT THE MAIN THING YOU’RE GETTING IS NO ONE’S GOING TO LISTEN TO YOU EVER AGAIN.”
THE ATLANTIC THEN:
“The Anti-Vaccine Right Brought Human Sacrifice to America”
“Unvaccinated People Need to Bear the Burden”
“Vaccine Refusers Don’t Get to Dictate Terms Anymore”
“Some Americans No Longer Believe in the Common Good”
THE ATLANTIC, YEARS LATER:
“Let’s Declare a Pandemic Amnesty”
“We need to forgive one another for what we did and said when we were in the dark about COVID.”
First of all, forgiveness comes AFTER you apologize.
Your headline should be “We’re sorry. We acted like monsters.” Not “we were in the dark about COVID” and didn’t know any better.
You didn’t know any better because you CENSORED people like us.
Screw off Atlantic. No Amnesty.
