In the space of two weeks, I have done two different cases involving travel agents.
And I am here to warn people to beware of scammers. Most of these travel agents are scammers!
There was one we drove away from our office after we realized he was in the habit of eating people's money and getting a lawyer to shield him from being prosecuted.
One of them defruaded my client of 50,000 riyals. She had a medical appointment in KSA, she went there and got stranded because the guy vanished with her money under the guise of helping her change the money ( Naira →Riyal).
The common scenario though is fleeing after getting money from their victims to process visas and incidental expenses.
If you want to make Umrah, you should travel with reputable agents. I know some of them and I can recommend few that I trust (in no particular order):

I have done enough recovery cases to be able to tell you that: prevention is better than remedy. Don't let your money get into the hands of the bad guys.

Frequent recitation of the Qur’an weakens your desire to commit sins. This is something tangible that the people of the Qur’an experience.
The more you increase your recitation of the Qur’an, the less your desire for sins becomes.
In fact, you may even come to hate sins and have no desire for them. This is among the blessings of Qur’an.
So, if you are struggling with a sin & are unable to give it up, then the most beneficial remedy for you is to increase your recitation of the Qur’an. (& listening)

Two interesting things I discovered this week are:
1. That you can get genuine court affidavits online from the Nigerian Federal High Court. A genuine one, not the ones those roadside people give you.
The website has all sorts of affidavits, even ones I didn't know existed.
2. The National Population Commission has a working portal. You can register your newborn online and get a certified birth certificate that is accepted worldwide.
You can do all these things without any bureaucracy.
