If you are a businessman, There is a product on the shelf that has sat there for months. Nobody picks it up. Customers just come, look at it, palpate it, press it, squeeze it, sniff it and leave it there. But the expiry date approaches. Then you decide to print a new expiry label, extend the expiry date, dust it off, and reposition it on the shelf. But still nobody buys it. You add an illuminating, shouting yellow discount label on it, but still nobody cares. You even add a flower and a butterfly sticker on it, but nobody buys it. They just admire it, touch it and then pass. The expiry label and discount tag peel off the product, which is collecting dust and mould. Then one day a customer arrives and happily buys it. And you remind him that "Goods once sold are never returned." He says, "Ooh yeaaaah!" He walks out happy, to go suffer buyer's remorse once he discovers it has expired, lost its quality and tastes sour. You finally breathe a sigh of relief, Phew! That is what is going on in the minds of the parents of this expired packet of milk.

I lived here in 2017 between October and December. This is Pipeline Estate, Nairobi. I had become so broke that I couldn't live in Nyayo Estate, where I had rented a 2-bedroom house, Gate B. Baba had just lost an election, and on 26th October, Uhuru was re-elected in a sham "birthday party election." I had put all my hopes and dreams in Baba's victory because I knew I was going to be appointed to a plum job in government. But after Baba lost, everybody left. Baba himself was abandoned by people close to him. He was so lonely and depressed. Only Saitabao Ole Kanchori took the role of giving Baba company. The rest took off. They crawled back when Baba had a handshake with Jameson. Living here in Pipeline gave me a reality check. I had never seen such an indignified ecosystem. My Ka-small cubicle was on the 7th floor. There is no lift. The eight tenants on that floor shared a toilet and a bathroom tucked at the corner of the floor's extreme corridor. If you get to your house in the evening and forget to buy a matchbox, you'd rather drink a mug of water, accept the situation and sleep till the next morning. If you walk leisurely and casually along the narrow, wet, muddy footpaths beside the sewer rivulets, a random tenant will pour kitchen effluent on your head, and that ruins the day for you. This is an experience I will never forget. In December, I relocated to my village and started life afresh. I vowed never again would I live that life. I fixed my life; I was obese, and I lost weight, regained my health, fortified my mental frame and became the best version of myself. I took my experiences and successes and turned them into lessons for helping others out of their pain. There are Kenyans living in squalor. They smile, but inside them is a whole funeral. Unless you walk in their shoes, you will never understand their experiences. You will mock them, call them names, but the people living in these places deserve better lives. Lessons I learnt: • Politics will never change your life. It is you who can change yourself. • Politicians are buddies; it is you and me who insult each other. • There is no dignity in poverty. Every Kenyan deserve a good house, good healthcare and an equitable share of national resources. • You have massive potential. You can become the best version of yourself. Don't doubt yourself.

Well, do you know the formation of the current ruling party [UDA] was partly funded by Mr Muthama, who owns a mining license that allows him to mine rare gemstones like Ruby Red and Green Garnets? Yet Kalonzo and Muthama are political friends. "Mblaza, go to Ruto, and I remain with Raila. Whoever wins is a win-win for us all." — Political cousins. Kamba-land, which boasts massive natural resources such as wildlife and minerals, has remained impoverished. Kambaland has the most significant economic corridor between Nairobi and Mombasa/Lamu/Garissa, which can turn Kambaland into an economic powerhouse in the transport industry. Wakamba are exemplary tyre technicians. Why can't we harness this cultural skill and turn it into a million-dollar industry? They have vast land watered by Kenya's giant rivers — Tana and Athi, Galana, and Sabaki. They have 400 million tonnes of the world's most sought-after non-renewable fossil fuel — COAL! But now, the Kamba's only economic resource is sand harvesting, yet minerals and precious gemstones are stolen by these same politicians. Musyoka will come again this time to tell Kambas that he will topple Ruto, and Kambas will be hypnotised by that deceitful euphoria. — "Wantam, Wan-bullet, WaMusyoka." After every election, these conniving politicians meet with political wheeler-dealers to collect paychecks as Kambas remain impoverished. These career "opposition politicians" don't have a transformative agenda. They are part of the mess. They simply camouflage and posture as "saviours" because they have not been invited to the looting table. However, their role is to keep the masses occupied with infertile opposition politics, so that the people cannot revolt against political brinkmanship and conmanship. They keep the masses occupied with political clownery and fiction while ignoring the fundamental problems that are disturbing our people. Then, when the infertile opposition goes to Kamba-land, instead of having a conversation that will liberate Kambas from economic slavery, all they tell them is, "Hi, Cousins!" - and the hypnotised Kambas respond, "Aiiii" Wake up!
