[TW: story about severe ME/CFS] Some time ago, a person with severe #MECFS requested that I visit with them. It has been a while since I was there and I’m still working through everything I heard and saw that day. This person had been unwell for many years and their (1/)

I’ve had severe ME for 17 years & have had so many experiences of neglect and abuse in hospitals that I now have a PTSD diagnosis. I don’t know anyone in the severe ME community who doesn’t also have similar horror stories to tell. It’s about time something was done #DontLetMEDie

We've organised an emergency demo at parliament on 8 March. Too many people with severe ME are dying. The NHS fails too many people with ME. Politicians must act NOW before anyone else comes to harm & before #LongCovid patients are next. Please support #MEAwarenessHour #NEISvoid

Clip from today's debate in Scottish parliament about #MECFS. @SueJWebber shares some powerful words from Jo - @therealmecfs "Read the reddit threads about #ME or #Fibromyalgia and you will see what [doctors] say of us and our diseases... malingerers, delusional, heartsink..."

We all know the care crisis is disastrous right now but this morning I agreed to go into a care home for a few weeks so my family can have a break from caring. If I had a full care team, I wouldn’t need to do this. If you know anyone near Horsley, Newcastle after a job, hmu 🤙🏻

No, Liz Truss, younger people on benefits aren’t more able to “adjust” to cuts than pensioners. Disabled people who are in too much pain to get out of bed are no more able to find a job than an 80 year old - and they shouldn’t have to. Divisive and deceitful.

“The government cannot do everything” is such gaslighting bullshit. The government can literally do whatever is wants. It can help you have decent housing, manageable energy bills, a working hospital, and food in your stomachs. The Tories can do it all - they just don’t want to.

Wow. America is moving backwards not forward. Roe vs Wade overturned & it’s a sad day in US history again. I’m so sorry for all the women who will risk their lives to make their own choice because of 5 people who took their voices away. #mybodymychoice

So it turns out we did find “something in the blood” of #ME/CFS patients: fibrinaloid microclots + hyperactivated platelets (that you can see with your own eyes). Thank you so much to @polybioRF donors who helped support part of the study: researchsquare.com/article/r…

Are ME/CFS patient advocates 'militant activists'? - as some claim - or are they simply patients unhappy with their treatment, who are legitimately campaigning against a perceived injustice - Dr @crblease and I covered this recurrent rhetoric narrative: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2997…

People have died from ME, and yet Wessely and his colleagues have been so successful in their efforts to de-medicalise it that some doctors still refuse to accept it's real. Mind blowing. 🙄
