Last week, we welcomed Andy from @bigriverne to celebrate the bakery's 10th birthday. It is a bakery in Shieldfield which operates as a warm hub. They often have free cookery workshops, pay what you can and pay it forward incentives running. #partnerships #community #partnership

Some of the @sageuk staff went along to do some baking with Andy & the team @bigriverne. They made stotties just like what they did on @HairyBikers Go North. The stotties were then brought along for our hostel residents to enjoy. They went down a treat 😋#homelessness #Newcastle – at Newcastle Upon Tyne, England

Tune into the @HairyBikers Go North BBC2 series tonight at 7pm to see Locality members @bigriverne doing their thing! The bikers proclaimed that the social enterprise make “the best stotties ever”! 🍞📺
Would you believe it, it’s the last in the series of Go North tonight! And we’re somewhere very special, riding through Tyne and Wear, and Newcastle, back to where it all began for Si. Tonight at 7pm on @BBCTwo, and you can catch up with the whole series on @BBCiPlayer 🍽

The North East might be back in lockdown, but that’s not going to stop us! Since March, as of this week, our emergency foodbank has helped get food on the table for 9️⃣4️⃣3️⃣ people, including 5️⃣4️⃣2️⃣ children who may have otherwise gone without.

Launching a new obesity strategy just a few days before you start subsidising half-price meals in fast food restaurants, is quite something. theguardian.com/society/2020…

For years now @michaelgove has promised no dilution of food and animal welfare standards as a result of Brexit. Last night he voted against an amendment that would have guaranteed that. I'm not surprised. Just think it's worth acknowledging that he is, straight up, a liar.

We need to support small-scale local food producers who are doing the RIGHT thing!!
Here’s ⁦@PrivateEyeNews⁩ cutting through ⁦@NFUtweets⁩’ “No F***ing Use) duplicity on food standards. Lobbying for #gm crops, against #pesticide restrictions and the enlightened “3 crop rule”.

Sorry to hear Scotland has the same problem of agribiz capture of farmer representation. Sickening to see the NFU soaking up so much public goodwill for a supposed crusade to defend food standards at the very same time that they themselves are working hard to undermine them!
