What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work.
My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

Ironic in the Fiscal Devolution Roadmap that “council leaders will receive greater rewards for the actions they take to grow their local economies” yet in RBWM govt has undertaken a £31m smash & grab cut largely based on slashing business rate retention….
Beyond depressing that it’s now been over a quarter of a century since the UK last delivered a balanced budget. The earliest likely date to even get close is now well into the 2030s

One thing to watch for in the Budget - Reeves got a big growth/headroom boost from planning reform. Now glaringly apparent that we won't hit those housing targets, so will the OBR downgrade accordingly?

🚨Sneaked out by OFGEM this morning, a warning for the first time EVER they cannot guarantee that demand will be met on a peak day in winter.
Let’s be clear what that means. They cannot guarantee that homes will be warm, lights come on or industry function on a peak day this winter.
And why? Because of an accelerated decline in domestic gas supply from the North Sea.
So what is the solution? For British bill payers to pay more, to IMPORT more from Europe (specifically Belgium) to keep the lights on in Britain.
Britain. A country with vast supplies of gas, untapped, deliberately due to Labour policy now going cap in hand to Europe and paying vast sums to import foreign gas.
It is utterly outrageous. You couldn’t make it up.

As so many of us warned, there is absolutely no incentive for people not to sign a rental contract/receive a rent rise then immediately challenge it. Meaning logjam in the courts and fewer people putting properties up for rent, damaging the rental market further.
