Aiming for compassion but settling too much on snark. Because it's funnier that way.

There was leftover Halloween candy at work. I grabbed a Snickers. I had seen this video. I chewed a little more slowly. I must have gotten lucky. I can't recreate the thrill of trick or treating as a kid, but Russian Roulette while eating candy? What a rush.
#NEW: Video provided to CP24 shows a Toronto father using a magnet to identify a pin concealed inside a piece of Halloween candy collected by his children. He discovered a total of five affected products. Full story: cp24.com/local/toronto/2026/…

Surprised she isn't limiting her unfollowing campaign to only white people like the time she asked for only white celebrities to donate money. It's like there's a secret contest to see who can be the most insufferable virtue signaller of all time.
Miss Rachel announced that she’ll be unfollowing celebrities and organizations who have stayed silent on Palestine. She has unfollowed Selena Gomez and Rare Beauty following their donations to the IDF.

Insanely misogynist country that allows this to happen and somehow prominent feminists don't flinch. I have come to accept that I don't live on the same planet, mentally, as a lot of people.

Jimmy Carter did a version of "hurt people hurt people" in reaction to the fatwa on Rushdie and nothing has changed. A large chunk of the Left has long been addicted to noble savage theory and bigotry of no expectations. Much of the arguing is still fundamentally about this.
22 years ago today, Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh (pictured) was cycling to work in Amsterdam. He never made it because he was assassinated by Mohammed Bouyeri, a 26-year-old Dutch-Moroccan Muslim man, who was offended by Van Gogh having dared to make a short film that criticised the treatment of women in Islam. Bouyeri shot him multiple times, slit his throat, then pinned a 5 page jihadist manifesto to his chest. The manifesto was primarily a direct death threat against Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the scriptwriter of the short film (‘Submission’). It called her a heretic and an ‘unbelieving fundamentalist’ who would be ‘smashed against the hard diamond of Islam.’ It also threatened Dutch politicians, labelling them under the control of a ‘Jewish cabal’, and called for the death of ‘unbelievers.’ To this day, Ayaan Hirsi Ali still faces persistent death threats and requires ongoing security protection. Throughout this period, rather than standing resolutely with her (and others like her) against the ideology that threatened her life and claimed Theo’s, swathes of the liberal establishment, and almost all so called ‘anti-racist’ and ‘feminist’ progressives, labelled her an ‘Islamophobe’ and, in essence, echoed the censorious dogma espoused by the jihadists. This crime, though not the first, was a harbinger of what was to come. It is not receiving much attention today, but it should. (P.s. Apologies, I accidentally deleted the first version of this post).

When people show you who they are etc. And I'm not talking about Tucker. But if you're surprised at this, you just had your head up your ass.
This would be insane.

In an ordinary time under an ordinary government, the outrage from the public and media over such blatant incompetence (or worse) would result in calls for accountability, investigations, and resignations. How was such abuse allowed to continue for so long? Billions of dollars involved!
Another bombshell on the billion dollar OSAP scandal. Over 8,300 OSAP applications came from just THREE IP addresses. The Ford government was warned as early as 2023 and received over 220 tips, complaints and referrals since January 2024. They had the warnings. They refused to act until Oct 2026. Now students are paying the price. We need a full forensic audit. cp24.com/politics/queens-par… #onpoli

Nobody has ever been able to talk him out of this or his understanding of trade deficits, although his first term was not nearly as aggressive. Maniacal obsession with not getting hosed in the deal.
Bill Clinton on Trump: I've known President Trump a long time. We used to have quite a friendly relationship 24 years ago. We'd play golf. He kept saying, "We're the biggest, strongest, richest country in the world. Why don't we just put a bunch of tariffs on everybody else and stop paying taxes altogether?" I said, "Well, because, Don" — he was Donald then, not Mr. President — "because these people don't just eat the tariffs. They just charge the people who buy the stuff, whatever it is. So we pay the tariffs." And he, just like now, didn't hear what he didn't want to hear.

Shades of the Brazil election. Need better people in politics. Anyway, my algorithm is 85% this Michigan crap so I better start clicking on dunk videos and funny pets or something.
It's not honourable to support El-Sayed. But it's also not honourable to support someone who will empower Trump.

"It's just criticism of Israel!" The gaslighting is relentless. Embrace political independence. You let yourself be a punching bag, you're going to get punched.
Asked about the indictment, @AbdulElSayed defended the perpetrators: “It's a lot more about what you're advocating for that gets you indicted or not indicted, rather than what you did.” Sure. When asked about the one who worked for him, the campaign story/dates changed 3 times.

Since riots are now spreading across Europe, there are some simple things any country that wants to avoid them can announce. Anyone found guilty of rioting/looting: - who is a foreign national will be immediately deported - who is a dual national will be immediately stripped of their citizenship, then deported - who is an asylum seeker or has been granted asylum, will be denied asylum/deported - permanently banned from receiving any benefits/welfare of any kind - given harsh custodial sentences Announce this now and avoid riots or watch your country go down the route of France and Germany.

Was out and about and noticed three young activists putting up paperwork in the neighbourhood. Organizing against government bureaucrats?! In Ottawa? What is this, some anarcho-socialism outfit? That's going to be a tough sell here.

"Inevitably repeat itself." That's the spirit. It's thoughts and prayers everywhere in Canada. Nobody is responsible or accountable for anything.
Une erreur regrettable mais qui va inévitablement se répéter. Les excuses de Radio-Canada sont aussi les miennes.

When you're younger and the clocks are turning back an hour, you stay up extra late to do fun stuff. When you're older, you sometimes tell yourself you're going to do that but it often doesn't work out.

It was a relatively quiet Halloween on our street, surprisingly, but solid percentage of adorable munchkins. It's hard to think of paganism when you have a gaggle of adorable munchkins dressed in terrific costumes on your porch exclaiming TRICK OR TREAT! with the most genuine enthusiasm you'll ever hear. What a miracle Halloween is for the munchkins. Every other day it's restraint by parents on candy and chocolate - their favourite things on earth - and then one night a year they get to dress up and fill a bag full of free candy handed out by strangers with carved pumpkins and skeletons outside their lit up houses. And the streets are filled with kids, all dressed up, roaming together at dark. Bigger kids too. The munchkins love the bigger kids and they're all out together for the great annual candy haul party. And then the sugar rush at home or a friend's house where the great treat trades occur, and then the crashout, falling asleep comfortably, knowing you still have leftovers for days, hopefully not knowing that your parents are depleting your stockpile ever so discreetly. What a magical trip.

Ra'am is onboard and now we just need UTJ to agree on #3 (civilian service is an olive branch), Lieberman to get his arm twisted, and Gadi's your uncle.
If Eisenkot can pull this off, it would be a historic development. We would simply be dealing with radically different Arab parties from what we have known in the past. The chances of the Joint List (or even Haredim) changing their spots like this are slim

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

Just invite Farrakhan back into the big tent and get it over with already. Oh, wait... Are we allowed to condemn the flaming bigotry of the NOI still, or is that now Islamophobia under Woke 2.0? The try being normal challenge remains impossible for Democrats.
