🇨🇺As the annual UN resolution vote to lift the blockade on Cuba approaches, we must stand in solidarity with Cuba. Solidarity is not a crime the blockade is! The Trump administration, Marco Rubio, and ultra-right interventionists want you to believe their genocidal lies. The only threat to the lives of millions of Cubans is the blockade, which blocks food, medicine, and fuel and disrupts everyday life—it is a silent war. Cuba is not a threat, the blockade is. We say no to the blockade and no to war. Let Cuba Live!

Nolan Wells didn’t drown –– and the capitalist state is covering it up. We need a system that fights racism, not protects it. All across the country, students have been holding walkouts to demand justice –– because his death and the mishandling of it exposes the ongoing war on Black America. We’ll stay in the streets until the case is reopened, his killers are locked up, and the racist, capitalist system is dismantled. Justice for Nolan Wells! Read more ➡️ liberationnews.org/how-the-d…

🇨🇺 Solidarity is not a crime, the inhumane U.S. blockade on Cuba is. The blockade is a silent genocide, a decades-long war designed by the U.S. government. It is collective punishment aimed at inflicting maximum damage on the island, its people, and their everyday lives. Last month, during UN General Assembly week, hundreds of peace activists, progressive leaders, and artists filled the Schomburg Center in Harlem for Voices for Peace: Cuba Is Not A Threat. We stood with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and a powerful lineup of speakers — including Rosemari Mealy (former Black Panther Party member), Rachel Domond (ANSWER Coalition), Dailyn Briñas (Cubans4Cuba), and NYC Council Member Alexa Avilés — to demand an end to the U.S. blockade and its unending threats against Cuban sovereignty. Together, we declared: the blockade must end. Let Cuba live. Solidarity is not a crime the blockade is!

The racist deportation machine is bipartisan funded. So how do we end ICE terror for good? Time and time again, Democrats have failed to deliver comprehensive immigration reform, leaving millions of workers in limbo and vulnerable. Now, Trump and his team of billionaire bigots are empowered to unleash state-sanctioned violence against immigrant communities — threatening the rights and safety of us all. We won't end ICE terror by relying on the same politicians who built and continue to fund the deportation machine. We need a mass movement powerful enough to dismantle it and win permanent, full and equal rights for all immigrants. Immigrant workers keep this country running — not billionaires! Abolish ICE!

TODAY: Chicagoans rally to demand the off-duty CPD officer who shot two people and fired into a crowd be named, charged, and arrested. COPA reported today that the officer fired two guns at the same time, with some bullets going into people’s homes. Little Village is at the front lines of state terror from ICE, Border Patrol, and CPD. We need killer cops off our streets, and money instead going to people’s needs!

Today marks 25 years since the formation of the ANSWER Coalition (@answercoalition). In the years since its founding, organizers have dedicated two decades to the fight against racism, militarism and war. Right now, Trump desperately seeks to reassert unipolar dominance in a new era of geopolitics. The U.S. is no longer the world hegemon but that has not softened the brutality and rugged imperialism of the far-right’s agenda. Read the reflections from Brian Becker (@BrianBeckerDC), a co-founder of the ANSWER Coalition, on the 25th anniversary of its founding. liberationnews.org/reflectio…

Nothing can defeat the people when they are ORGANIZED! The Trump administration has poured billions of dollars into building out ICE forces as an army to be used against the working people of this country. But their billions couldn't stop their defeat in Minneapolis and won't save them in Biddeford, Houston, or anywhere else the people are organized to fight!! Join us this Saturday for the National Day of Action in Portland! 🗓️Saturday, July 18th 🕒3pm EST 📍Monument Square

In just 8 days, 3 immigrant workers have been killed by ICE — Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston, Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Biddeford, ME, and an unidentified man fleeing ICE in St. Augustine, FL. These deaths were a deliberate policy choice by both the Trump administration and every single Congressperson, Democrat or Republican, who voted for increased ICE funding. We say stop the killings! Join the National Day of Action on Saturday, July 18 in cities across the country enraged by these crimes against our communities to say STOP ICE TERROR! 🚨NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION ON SATURDAY, JULY 18: The entire country must rise up to stop ICE’s killing spree. On July 7, ICE agents murdered Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. Today ICE murdered Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Maine. These deaths are not accidental — they are the direct result of the Trump administration’s war on working-class immigrant communities, a war which is now demanding agents arrest 2,000 people per day. After the people of Minnesota organized strikes and shutdowns to drive out Operation Metro Surge, ICE tried for several months to “stay out of the headlines.” But ICE’s overall aggressive and violent approach has continued with new tactics, and now a massive budget. Every Congressperson who has voted for ICE funding is responsible for these crimes. ICE may have pulled the trigger but they handed them the guns. The vast majority of the country opposes the racist deportation drive Trump is waging in our communities. We want justice, equality and full rights for all immigrants. Now we must stand up and refuse to allow this violence to go unchallenged. In the name of Joan, Lorenzo, Alex Pretti, Renee Nicole Good, Jaime Alanis, Keith Porter and so many other victims of ICE Terror: all out this Saturday, July 18!

🇻🇪Now more than ever, end all U.S. sanctions on Venezuela! Donate to earthquake relief for Venezuela ➡️ peoplesforum.org/vzrelief Two devastating earthquakes hit Venezuela on June 24. As of today, June 29, the death toll stands at 1,450+, and over 3,000 people have been injured. Tens of thousands are reported missing. While the Venezuelan people and its institutions have been working around the clock to respond to the catastrophe, their capacity to respond has been undercut by a decade of over 1,000 U.S. sanctions, which remain in place even today. Donald Trump has publicly bragged that after the so-called “one-day war” against Venezuela on Jan. 3, the U.S. has been able to extract millions of barrels of oil to “repay” what the U.S. spent in its massive military deployment against Venezuela. We firmly reject Washington’s war on Venezuela, whether through sanctions or airstrikes, the Venezuelan people must have sovereignty over their resources, land, and political decisions. As the country struggles to recover from this disaster, we stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and demand that they be free from U.S. control and meddling.
