Not verbalizing our needs and stances on things with people and situations weโ€™re understanding of and are compassionate towards will eat us alive inside. We can be understanding without enabling or being overly tolerant ๐Ÿ’“ communication & healthy conflict are great
being too understanding WILL kill you

That is what a healthy embodiment of the shadow is for.
Madonna explains the real reason legends like Michael Jackson, Prince, and Jean-Michel Basquiat burned out. โ€œWhen you channel artistic ideas and you have creative visions, itโ€™s magic. And when you overthink it or you start thinking about how much of that you own, you stop it. A lot of people have these meteoric careers and they rise up and take the world by stormโ€ฆ and then something happens and they canโ€™t handle the light. In a way, they fly too close to the light and it burns them. I would say thatโ€™s really true about many of my peersโ€ฆ whether thatโ€™s Prince or Michael Jackson or Jean-Michel Basquiat. These are people who were channeling, but I donโ€™t think they understood that there has to be some kind of restriction. People like to take drugs because theyโ€™re actually channeling lightโ€ฆ but itโ€™s light with no restriction. And then thatโ€™s what kills you or burns you out.โ€

And I think this creates an incentive where ppl gain more social legitimacy from staying in a dysfunctional relationship than from making the mature decision to leave. We end up rewarding the appearance of commitment even when exercising good judgment would mean being single.

shit changes when you decide youโ€™re ready to be seen. ready to be supported. ready to feel good. ready to be loved. ready to be free. ready to have more friends. ready to be creative. ready to shine. take everything you put out so effortlessly and give it all back to yourself.

nobody wants to hear it but people yearn and become obsessed over a situationship because it activates core abandonment wounds and they thrive on the on and off dynamic of it all...because deep down they feel they deserve that type of treatment

Trying to explain this people is really hard. Hurt feelings get treated like proof of a boundary violation instead of what they often areโ€ฆthe normal cost of two people having different needs, priorities, or capacities..
I think one consequence of how much we've popularized the language of boundaries and emotional safety is that ppl are becoming less comfortable with the fact that perfectly legitimate decisions can still hurt other people.

i made meatballs from the leftover dumpling filling, made the broth with some aromatics & stock, then added prawns, shiitake mushrooms, birdโ€™s eye chillis, scallions and cilantro for the sides & toppings. i loveeeeee pho!๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ‹โ€๐ŸŸฉ๐Ÿซš๐Ÿง„๐Ÿง…๐Ÿ„โ€๐ŸŸซ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒฟ
finding out how much filling to put in the dumplings and how long to fry them for was a trial & error process, but regardless of how they came out, they were delicious!! we also had a chill crisp sauce on the side which was amazing as well ๐Ÿ–๐Ÿฅฌ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿง…๐ŸŒถ๏ธ๐ŸฅŸ๐ŸฅŸ๐ŸฅŸ

How is the internet less private than in 2006, when the whole family shared one computer? Back then, the internet was weird, personal, and all of ours. So, we got your favorite meme legends back together to say it louder: What happened to the internet? 1/3
