I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Went to Ralphs to resupply and whatever the vibe on social media may be, in the real world Angelenos are in full "strangers talking to each other and being nice during a disaster" mode. Everyone was commiserating, sharing stories & advice & so on. Lots of good people out there.
