🚨 Mikel Arteta reveals what he told Max Dowman after his red card against Fleetwood Town: 🎙️ Interviewer: “Mikel, cameras caught you speaking furiously to Max Dowman as he headed down the tunnel after his red card. What did you say to him? Mikel Arteta: “I was furious. I’m not going to stand here and pretend otherwise. We have just been eliminated from the Carabao Cup by a League Two side sitting 18th in their division, and when you play for Arsenal, you have to understand the responsibility that comes with that shirt” “I told Max, ‘Look at me. I understand that the player kicked you. I understand that you were angry, and I understand that you felt you needed to react. But you cannot allow another player to decide your actions for you!’ “Do you know what hurts me most? He is a young player with incredible talent, and we are trying to help him grow. But tonight, he gave the opposition exactly what they wanted. They provoked him, he reacted, and suddenly we are talking about his red card instead of what this team was supposed to achieve” “I told him, ‘Max, you can be angry. You can feel disrespected. You can believe the referee should have protected you better. But you cannot lose control. Not here. Not in this shirt. Not when your teammates are depending on you!’ “And yes, I was harsh with him. He needed to understand how serious this was. His actions hurt the team, and we cannot simply brush that aside because he is young. Being young gives you room to learn, but it does not mean there are no consequences. “But let me make one thing clear: I will not abandon a young player because he has made a mistake. I will challenge him, I will demand more from him, and I will help him become better. Max has a future, but talent alone will not protect him from difficult nights like this. “Tonight should hurt. It should hurt every one of us. We have to look at ourselves, accept the consequences and make sure we never put ourselves in this position again.”

The most depressing part about this is the lack of creativity. If you’re gonna monetise a floating island - there are much better ways than a billboard. Imagine the number of microads and events you can run when you have captive footfalls. Picture: Little Island, NYC

TIL about "church conversions" - an adaptive reuse trend of turning churches with dwindling congregations into crazy open-concept homes.

Lot of India v/s USA discussion lately. Nothing underscores the fact that we are developing more than actual building happening on the ground. MMR is building ~ as many skyscrapers (150m+) as the next 10 worldwide cities COMBINED.
No city is building more skyscrapers than Mumbai: 300+ towers, against 38 in Dubai and 11 in New York. In India, a skyscraper is a home. The tallest finished, Lokhandwala Minerva (301 m), won’t stay the tallest for long. 🧵

So many buildings have been inspired by the Flatiron. Interesting to think about which aspects people love/hate about this design. The floor plan was always controversial for grade-A office which has now led to a condo conversion. Love: Light due to narrow floor plates, corner office at the point. Hate: Irregular non-rectangular rooms. Pantheon looks significantly wider - almost trangular. Wonder how that floor plate is handling light/room shapes? @GauravGupta_RE do you have the floor plan?

The most heartwarming thing for a founder’s first launch is outreach from strangers to share their experiences with the problem, or ask to join the team since the mission aligns with the problems they have experienced. Lucky to be seeing some of this already @relmohq 🥰

People often ask why start @relmohq with primary. This explains it well. Payment plans with new construction, quality of delivery, and RERA guarantees mean that there is a large portion of buyers in India who only want to buy in new projects. This overlaps pretty strongly with first-time homebuyers who face a poor experience when finding their next home. We want to make it easier for them.
Homebuilders are exposing the housing market. They're offering mortgage rate buydowns, closing costs, and tens of thousands in incentives. Meanwhile, resale sellers are still hoping someone pays their asking price. Here's the problem. Buyers don't live in the purchase price. They live in the MONTHLY PAYMENT. And builders have figured that out.

This narrative is not only short-sighted but actively DANGEROUS. In a country where our road coverage is 24% of USA’s per capita figure and expressways are 2% of USA’s per capita figure - we have to build for the level of development we want. There are countless examples in history of projects criticised at launch which have transformed geographies like the Mumbai-Pune expressway, Erie Canal, or the Beijing-Shanghai HSR. Built infrastructure has a long lead and we must have the foresight to invest ahead wisely.
India is building US-style expressways to move freight faster. But many truckers still prefer older roads, where food, repairs and rest stops are cheaper. Aryan Gupta explains what’s putting the country’s $130 billion bet at risk: bloom.bg/4Bn5lr4
