An abandoned jungle cat kitten found in Thane district will be hand-raised at RAWW’s wildlife facility after repeated attempts to reunite it with its mother failed. Officials and villagers tried locating the mother for two consecutive nights, but camera traps recorded no signs of her.

Jhansi Police have registered a case against four men for allegedly pouring an inflammable substance on a live rat and setting it on fire.
In a post on X, Jhansi Police said they took cognisance of a video of the incident that surfaced on social media on October 28, 2026.
The Kotwali police registered a case under relevant sections against the four named accused — Junaid Qureshi, Zeeshan Qureshi, Ashiq Qureshi and Shafiq — all residents of the Orchha Gate area under Kotwali police station limits.
Further action is underway, police said. City Circle Officer Priya Singh also shared a video statement regarding the case.

HORRIBLE: An 8-year-old boy told a 6-year-old girl her dad was waiting for her upstairs. It was a lie, and what happened next was caught on her school’s cameras.
It happened Tuesday at a government school in Panchkula, India. Police say the boy led her into an empty classroom and attacked her, leaving her unconscious and critically injured. When her family arrived searching for her, it was the same boy who walked them to where she was lying. She’s now fighting for her life in the hospital. The classroom had cameras watched from the principal’s office, yet no adult stepped in. Police have opened a case against the school, and the boy is being evaluated by doctors to understand why a child that young would do this. Every parent sends their kid to school trusting someone is watching.

A tragic setback for India's cheetah conservation efforts.
A 19-month-old male cheetah, identified as KNG22, has died in Madhya Pradesh after being found critically injured with firearm pellets lodged inside its body.
Veterinarians recovered five pellets during emergency surgery, but the young cheetah could not be saved. The death is believed to be India's first reported cheetah killing since the species was reintroduced in 2022.
The Madhya Pradesh government has formed a Special Task Force to investigate the shooting.
