Scoop: Google is letting advertisers opt out of the search partner network on all campaign types, after Adalytics last week found that ads placed here ended up on sanctioned, pornographic and pirated publishers.

Labor productivity is the silver bullet that would allow GDP and real wages to rise while inflation continues to fall. It is the secret not just to a soft landing, but to an economic boom. In Q3, it rose 4.7%, and unit labor costs *fell* 0.8% as a result.

...Google swapped winners & runners-up??
It increased revenue but *they don't know why* 🤯
Implicitly, the action was taken for other reasons (to suppress top advertisers) and had happy side effects

I am starting to see a lot of company updates with new growth and optimism.
After more than 12 months of cutting and rationalizing business costs it appears we might be coming off the bottom.
It's early but the green shoots are certainly there.

Just a quick remark on @Amazon's 2Q23 advertising revenue - it grew by 22% y-o-y, easily beating @Meta and Google's growth rates.
But neither Meta's nor Amazon's ad numbers signal an imminent recovery of the ad market. Amazon simply has the hottest ad product there is - retail media-, but that's not true for the overall market. And Meta's 12% growth are mostly due to coming back from a dismal 2022. Google's 3% are perhaps closest to where we are right now.
Amazon will likely catch up more to both Meta And Google this year. In 2022, Amazon's revenue was a little less than a third of Meta's, and Meta's a little less than half of Google's.

Ugh, on a Sunday. But I've had a coffee so here we go. Attribution broadly describes analytics approaches to giving credit to an advertising source (channel, publisher, etc) for generating an action (visit, conversion, etc). 1/7
I'm confused : everybody is talking about the death of attribution but it seems like Data Clean Rooms operated by Google, Facebook and the likes are making it possible again (with greater accuracy)... thoughts @hammer_mt @monferran @humanpropensity What am I missing ?

Twitter has never had a good ads product. It lacks all the prerequisites for a great ads business. Low reach, + very little data for personalization, means Twitter can’t show relevant ads that drive performance. It’s mostly just helping advertisers throw money into a fire.
