Can I remind everyone how this actually happened in the real world, not in fairyland? First, Trump created the conditions for the Iranians to restart and accelerate their nuclear weapons program, which they had previously given up without a single shot being fired. Then he completely fucked up the chance for regime change, leaving the protesters exposed to bullets. Then he burned through billions of dollars’ worth of missiles and achieved approximately fuck knows what. He definitely destroyed a girls’ school. Whether he destroyed the nuclear program is rather less certain. Now the Iranians know one thing for sure: without a nuclear bomb, they’re dead. Because Trump kisses the asses of countries that already have one. And Iran is hardly the only country to have noticed that. So much for nuclear disarmament for the foreseeable future. So far, the main result of this war is a half-closed Strait of Hormuz. And as for the idea that Iran was somehow about to wipe America off the face of the Earth just because people there shouted “Death to America!”, Russians have spent years literally promising to reduce the United States to nuclear ashes, parading around with inflatable missiles marked “To Washington!” Yet somehow that has never stopped Trump and his family from cutting shady deals with them and sucking on Kremlin sausage.
