Early reports of extremely high suburban turnout across Gauteng. Longer lines than usual. I have reports from at least 20 VDs now. Lines of 200+

💦❌ Gauteng's taps are running dry. The Human Rights Commission has now confirmed that YOUR rights are being violated.
Back the DA to stop the chaos and start service delivery by voting DA on every ballot. #VoteDA

Joburg, it's time to get out of the DWAAAANG. 🫵🏽

GAUTENG IS LOSING 1.5 BILLION LITRES OF WATER A DAY
Gauteng’s water problems aren’t simply because the province has run out of water.
A new investigation by the South African Human Rights Commission says there is currently enough water available to meet demand, but major failures in the system are preventing reliable supply from reaching communities.
The problems include ageing infrastructure, leaks, poor maintenance, inadequate storage and pumping capacity, electricity interruptions and shortages of technical skills.
The commission found that around 1.5 billion litres of water are being lost every day through leaks.
It has now called on municipalities and water service providers to focus on repairing failing infrastructure and strengthening the systems used to store and distribute water.
So, if there is enough water available, why are so many taps still running dry?

One final time from me: Turnout is crucially important tomorrow. GO VOTE!!!
Joburg People: This is existential. Turnout non-negotiable. Over to you.

It is staggering seeing the JHB polls that ANC is still at basically 1 in 4 people who will vote for them. After all they’ve not done for 25 years in this city, some people are still voting for potholes, no traffic lights, no water and all round ruin.

The 4th of November is not a public holiday or a day for groove, we need to go out there and reclaim our country from criminals and corrupt politicians who hate South Africans.

We have a unique opportunity to stop the coalition chaos in Joburg. The DA is so close
We need you to get us over the line. The polling below is why all these ‘smaller’ parties are attacking Gogo Helen, they don’t want the chaos to stop.
Let’s unite behind Gogo and give DA 51%

All polls put the DA ahead in Tshwane🏆 But being the largest party doesn’t guarantee we govern.
Smaller parties could still bring the ANC into government through the back door.
Stop the coalition chaos❌ Unite behind the DA and give us an outright majority. Let’s get Tshwane working for all🛣️

Friendly reminder that voter turnout will be SUPER IMPORTANT. Especially to my Joburg friends - if you have any interest in the outcome whatsoever, your decision to vote is hugely important.
TURN OUT TO VOTE NEXT WEDNESDAY! AND PLAN TO DO SO EARLY (+take people along)

Can’t stand this phrase. The implication on some level being residents are pouring water down the drain. No, “normal consumption”. The phrase you are looking for is “Poor Rand Water infrastructure, weak long term planning and incompetence”. Please, be honest.
🚨High Consumption

In case you weren’t aware of the importance of your vote next week, issues like GBV are 100% on the ballot. I say this because things like streetlights & pavements can mean the difference between life or death (in a literal sense).
See this explainer that was shared with me:
