This goes beyond pure math. @bernalde and I ran similar experiments in applied fields where math is central and computation is modest. Anyone with public AI agents can try it. Imagine what happens when this is applied to a problem you care about.
Check out our paper on how we did it and the questions it raises for research.

When you see the big labs doing the same that we had been doing with a fraction of the personnel and budget, you know we're onto something big!

It took time to get this published, but I am glad to have turned my PhD thesis @CMU_ChemE into several papers!

by understanding that they can be modeled using conic inequalities 🎉 , enhancing the efficiency of their solution using solvers by conversion into Mixed-Integer Conic Programs.
This approach was applied to various examples in #ProcessSystemsEngineering and #MachineLearning.
Reflecting on my academic journey from PhD graduate to now a professor, I'm delighted to share the last chapter of my thesis waiting to be published in an academic journal.
This work, together with Ignacio Grossmann, delves into solving convex Generalized Disjunctive Programming
A good moment to highlight @arxiv inability to deal with people with 2 last names! Another paper for DEB Neira! Watch out @Google

You would think that @Google would know how there are last names more complicated than a single word but I guess @GoogleAI's most sophisticated tool for @googlescholar_ citations is using the last word in your name (Neira, DEB)...
Do I need to hyphenate my name or make mom mad?
The stochastic benchmark (aka #WindowStickers) paper is out! Joint work with Robin Brown and Marco Pavone @Stanford, Pratik Sathe @UCLA (now @LosAlamosNatLab), Eleanor Rieffel @NASAAmes and @dr_filutek and @dventu from @USRAedu, check out the details in Davide's thread! #QuAIL
We posted on the arXiv an introduction to our stochastic optimization benchmarking package for quantum and quantum-inspired solvers: scirate.com/arxiv/2402.10255 - we take an holistic look at what a solver is end-to-end and how it should be evaluated for actual impact. 🧵1/7
