Tonight, 25 years ago, thousands of families sat down to dinner, said goodnight, made plans for tomorrow — never knowing it would be their last night together. September 11th changed this country forever, and the weight of that day should never fade. A quarter century later, there are now young adults who weren't even alive when the towers fell. That's exactly why we can't just remember, we have to tell the stories. Talk about who these people were, not just how they died. Share the stories of the first responders who ran in when everyone else was running out. Talk about the passengers of Flight 93. Talk about the neighbors, coworkers, and strangers who held each other up in the days after. Every name on that memorial was a whole life, a parent, a friend, a person with plans for a future that was stolen from them. If we keep telling their stories, they never really leave us. Never forget. Hug your family tonight. Call the people you love. Tell them what they mean to you, tomorrow isn't promised to anyone.
