Ignoring how I would immediately be unable to function and kms, the suggestion of “you can just detransition” to transsexuals is funny bc a decade of HRT + many surgeries in I’m at a point where I would need identical surgeries and HRT as a full FTM transition to “detransition”
“I can take off my they/them pin” goes crazy

If you think trans women can just detransition back into privilege, especially as a cis woman or other non-transitioning transmisogyny exempt person, why not just transition into it yourself given it’s just as materially easy? Oh, is it bc testosterone would feel bad? 🧐

Learning that the above screenshot are bc a black transfem dared to talk about how her visible queerness and blackness both cannot just be taken off so they hit her with the ontologically white trans woman / ontologically TME non-transitioning POC dichotomy
well some of us are trans and actually visibly queer and thus cannot just "hide" it. it's almost like you're more privileged in this respect. some of us cannot hide either our blackness or our queerness!

Reminder that it is unhelpful to assume all trans people have shared goals and that unfortunately a sizable contingent of trans people are (and have always been) enemies to any meaningful trans political project!
I understand the protective impulse, but if we want to understand what's going on it's not helpful to no-true-scotsman people out of identity categories because they have repulsive views. Instead we have to contend with the fact that some trans people are our political opponents.

I think it can change attraction a little but the direction isn’t universal and a large part is just bc people underestimate how attraction isn’t just desire for another but self perception aligning with that desire, which medical transition obvi changes dramatically!
I don’t think that’s real

In my case this did not make me desire men and just allowed me to fully desire women!

You people can’t do anything
we NEED to talk about how book shopping has gotten so difficult in recent years. I'm sorry I'm not tryna cop a random book from wattpad

It's pretty amazing how some people agree with the basic right wing evangelical line that society should be so intensely sex segregated that women should not have friendships with men but do not understand that this belief is deeply conservative and anti-feminist.

Many people who earnestly believe this understand it comes from a place of intense conservatism and right wing religiosity! But I've seen it a lot recently dressed up as feminist (from straight women, like we're not talking lesbian separatists!) and that's just really something.

People who hate trans people seem to think about trans people a lot more than anyone else.

If you were assigned into the category of "woman" and "female" through a consequence of your birth and then transition your gender and sex away from those categories, it is reasonable to question why one clings so desperately to the sexual identity that means "women loving women"

Okay cool! One big takeaway: changing your sex is real and it works—now apply that to your arguments.

Transitioning your sex in one way or another is the greatest violation of the gender binary there is, and nonbinary transsexuals are all over the place. Sticking with the hormones your mom gave you will never be more binary than seizing the means of production of your own body!
Male and female are binary sexes, and not real things. They refer to your sexual identity, not your gender identity. If you desire to change your sex, you are transgender. If you desire to be percieved atypically, you are non-binary. They/them is not the only nonbinary identity

Now that I have spent over a decade changing my sex to a place that causes me no psychic distress because it's fully aligned with my gender, I feel infinitely more able to treat gender with a sense of play instead of with urgency to basically function! Funny how that works.

I think a lot of people in trans spaces use statistics about straight black and brown sex workers in north and south America as a social currency for themselves, despite the fact they are none of those things. It's very 'validty culture' tbh

I spent most of my life with debilitating dysphoria and mostly rid myself of it through over a decade of medical transition, but still deal with common body dysmorphia stuff from living in the world as a woman. I cannot tell you how wildly different they are from one another!
this is a little silly. my fiancée understands the analogies between beauty standards for cis and trans women, but she also understands the disanalogies (the harsher punishment we receive & internalize) and (correctly) would feel very uncomfortable reproaching me for my desires.

Some people act as if dysphoria is just the trans dysmorphia and that’s just not true! I understand why cis women sometimes equivocate these experiences, but the reality is we deal with dysmorphia in the same way and dysphoria is a very different experience they don't have.

See how she connected it to shared values. See how she framed it in a way favorable to herself and trans people simultaneously. See how she didn't spend 10 minutes clearing her throat over sports
Trans voter to @AOC: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that? AOC:
