The level of cope from Epic is unbelievable. EGS was never a competitor to Steam because it lacks 95% of Steam's FUNCTIONALITY. Giving out free games does not excuse the terrible UI and bare-bones services. Last I checked it had no chat, no friends lists, no community features.
A former Epic Games dev says Steam has become almost impossible to compete with, even if someone builds a better launcher. Kiaran Ritchie argues that developers aren’t really paying Valve’s 30% cut for its services, they’re paying for access to Steam’s huge player base. He believes most Steam users simply have no reason to move to another store, even if it offers a better experience. “They played capitalism so well they broke it.” Ritchie says that Steam has become so dominant that developers can’t afford to ignore it, leaving them with no choice but to accept the 30% cut.

They relied entirely on the promise of the 90% cut for devs, but 90% of a puny audience doesn't compete with 70% of a massive user base. And instead of trying to increase that user base by improving their product, Epic just whines and complains about the unfairness of it all.

You forgot Act 4, where the Riddler gets on Tiktok and blows up a sea wall
Here is a 30,000 foot view of screenplay structure. Act 1: I have a problem. Act 2A: I think I'll solve it. Act 2B: This is harder than I thought. Act 3: The sacrifice. Keep it simple. Structure is just the framework. Scenes and characters are where you cook.

Thinking about things like "notary public," "body politic," phrases where English puts the modifier after the noun like a Romance language. There must be some other examples

This tweet led me to discover that “treasure trove” falls under this category, with “trove” coming from the French for “found,” but common usage over time has forced it to become a noun. I’m eager to be annoying about this one in the future

One thing that’s cool about every ecosystem having its own bird species is that means every ecosystem has its own soundtrack. Swamp music vs forest music vs mountain music. The world is so awesome

“We distinguish between ‘creating’ something and the ‘labor’ involved in the process... The tricky part is that this labor can actually be quite enjoyable." There's my issue with using AI to 'create'. The labor of creation is a spiritual endeavor, not something to be avoided.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, the acclaimed designer behind Super Mario and Zelda, has explained why he believes generative AI won’t make human creativity obsolete. "There will always be a role left for us to play." videogameschronicle.com/news…

People still getting fooled by cinematic trailers in the big 2026 is pretty wild. 6 years of pre-production and this is the leak? This game clearly did not exist, y'all.
A former BioWare employee uploaded this Mass Effect Universe (Mass Effect 5) trailer on Reddit! According to another employee, this trailer was ready a few months ago. #MassEffect

Now imagine writing a sung-through musical, where every vital expository moment must also be singable, easy on the ears, and the exact right length without overstaying its welcome

"Lifelong passion" does not equal respect, or even understanding.

Link is very rarely actually mute; we just don't hear or see him talk. It's a total non-issue. If he's mute, cool. If not, also valid. As long as he's not jabbering for the whole film, I doubt people will actually care.
Former Nintendo Developer Takaya Imamura has some concern about Link speaking in The Legend of Zelda movie: "The moment Link speaks, I can't help but worry a little that the 'Zelda magic' everyone has been nurturing in their hearts might just vanish into thin air" ign.com/articles/former-nint…

Amazon's new head of TV has requested that the ‘MASS EFFECT’ series should be rewritten to appeal to “non-gamers.” A greenlight for the series is expected shortly. (Source: theankler.com/p/why-is-peter…)
