BREAKING: The order to limit Ukraine's Starshield satellite access this week came directly from inside the White House, with leaders at the Defense Department receiving a message that the service needed to be slowed immediately, per multiple officials to Reuters.
Yet, White House officials told the Ukrainians yesterday they do not have control over SpaceX, and one source said the administration is going to reach out to SpaceX to figure out what happened.
Musk said Starshield is owned and controlled by the US government and that "any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS."
Zelensky said the failures were deliberate. "It was not a technical problem, it was the will."
