I'm not much of a sports guy, but this editorial from @BenSasse does a great job showing the value of sports in building social capital among America's youth. wsj.com/opinion/free-express…
This is an incredible resource/ follow for ball coaches!
If anyone is looking to bathe themselves in tons and tons of quality Quarters coverage material, I’ve got you covered — thousands of pages gathered from hundreds of resources I’ve been accumulating for 20 years. It’s exactly how I learned the detail of all the various Quarters mechanisms used over the past 40+ years, and this isn’t even accounting for all the various adjustments to formation structures.
🐐 best ever!

As summer winds down, your base defense should mostly be installed.
Now its time to dive into situations that are often the determining factor in winning and losing the game.
The Situational Bundle has videos on 2 Minute, Redzone, Unbalanced, Goal Line, and end of game. Be sure to use code: America250 for 25% off on all individual videos or bundles this month!

Dont forget about our massive July sale!
Available on Monday on @thecoachtube for all of the month of July! @blackoutD.
A couple of coaching camp reminders from a 20 year veteran….
1) Hydrate. The days are too valuable for a coach to be missing or not at your best. Take care of yourself.
2) Take care of your feet between practices. Constant washing after practice and letting them air out. Blisters during camp are absolutely miserable for coaches.
3) don’t get into a pissing contest at practice. Go out of your way to encourage or congratulate an offensive or defensive player opposite of you if he makes a good play. It’s gonna take everyone for the next three months.
4) never favor installation if it’s in lieu of fundamentals. No matter what you run, ability to shed blocks and tackle has to show up for four months. No one calls a game good enough to completely change the whole picture on schematics alone.
5) remember your playing days. August practice is miserable. Be intentional about not letting the guys see you drag and commit to encouraging leaders to press on. “If it’s too hard for them…..it’s got to be just right for us”.

Done both. Make the choice on why you do best but also what kind of team you have. If I felt we were really veteran than I’d prefer to do it from the box. But hard to cook from the living room….young guys need a chef with them.
Coaching the OL may be the biggest prerequisite for any type of leadership role in football. Coaching the secondary is second.
You suck at either on of them, you got no chance to win games.
Can’t control the game on offense/ can’t limit explosives on defense= game over
Coaching the offensive line should be a prerequisite for coaching quarterbacks. #IMO
An absolute ball coach!
