good answer for a black socialist running in Florida. Cuba is also definitely a one-party dictatorship with democratic participation for electing individual folks. It has both elements. Angie has to make consequential JUDGEMENTS. Yโ€™all donโ€™t relate bc yall donโ€™t build power.
Why Angie Nixon say that about Cuba man lol thatโ€™s disappointing but not surprising

People will put you on a pedestal. Once I realized how much of my humanity I was being robbed of, how I was treated like someone who couldn't make a mistake-as though I had to be perfect-I decided to step into that role, so to speak, and own it.

Lovett: I just want to be very clear: Jews in Michigan have a moral obligation to support Abdul. They should do it to protect themselves from antisemitism and rising hatred in America.

Wait so Abdul is doing better with lean-Democratic voters than Rogers is doing with lean-GOP voters (despite the media coverage saying the exact opposite)
Last Detroit News-Glengariff poll in September had Rogers leading 46-44, now has El Sayed up by +6, 51-45 โ€” consolidating Dems, 88% of Black voters, leading with independents, and crushing it with younger voters.

every piece of media coverage on the abdul race that cast doubt on his performance in the party or w black voters has been a manufactured narrative led by consultants and party bosses who hate his popular position on israel, anti militarism and medicare for all. they wanted to wishcast, and also set up a narrative that progressives canโ€™t win swing states regardless of his poll performance.

Rashida Tlaib THROUGH TEARS speaks on the trials of being a Muslim mother in the U.S. with a climate of heightened islamophobia: Raising 2 Muslim boys in this country, it is INCREDIBLY HARD to see what [the GOP is] doing. My sons shouldnโ€™t care that theyโ€™re Muslim, that theyโ€™re Arab-American, PROUD Palestinians, they shouldnโ€™t be able to see [the hate]. I am SHOCKED of how LITTLE my Republican colleagues speak out against it, especially because they also represent diverse communities.

Letโ€™s remember that Obama fired Van Jones. A decision that looks better and better in retrospect.
Van Jones speculates Abdul will lose and that campaigning with Kamala Harris and Obama is desperate.

Debbie Dingell at an Anti-Muslim Hate Rally: We are seeing a real rise in hate in our communities across the U.S. and when you see the President of the United States put kerosene on itโ€”Iโ€™m not being political, Iโ€™m saying itโ€™s our job to STAND UP to hate, not put kerosene on it. It should disturb each and every one of us, because when hate is directed at one community, it threatens the safety and the dignity of ALL.

The Democrats' secret advantage? Voters who didn't cast a ballot in 2024. Trump's net approval with them is down 66 pts since Nov 2024. His net approval with them on inflation is just 10%. These voters favor by 20+ pts in national House polls & in key red state Senate races.

The GOP shouldn't be counting on a poll miss to win the Senate (though it's possible!). Dems have actually been slightly more likely to outperform the polls in close Senate races since 1998. Same in 2018 (Trump's 1st midterm) & Dems outperformed in all 2022 close races.

The data to me says that if anything the issue of Israel is helpful to El-Sayed in Michigan. He does better among voters who say it's extremely impt to their vote than overall. Most Mich voters & indies want military aid ended or reduced to Israel. AIPAC is deeply unpopular.
