in fairness, Miguel *chose* to be an american. whereas the guy depicted on that ancient "iwo jima" monument was prolly just born as an american. and what's more, the iwo jima figure almost certainly held retrograde, unacceptable views on race, sex and trans acceptance.
in all of those senses, Miguel is much much more of an American than some random racist on an old war memorial.
and so why shouldn't Miguel take offense at this bigoted country raising monuments to racists who were barely even american while there are no monuments raised to men like Miguel, who are the best americans and literally built this country.

How should Christians approach Halloween?
Christians tend to fall into four different camps when it comes to participating in Halloween:
- Total abstinence
- Full participation
- Partial participation
- Redemptive participation
Some abstain from Halloween altogether. Others fully participate in the festivities, while some enjoy the family fun without participating in the glorification of evil.
I believe the better alternative is redemptive participation.
My mom has set this example for me for years. She uses Halloween as an opportunity to share the gospel by attaching Bible verses to candy, making Scripture signs for her front lawn, and sharing the love of Jesus with the families who come to her door.
As she says, “What other time of year do you have people coming to your home and asking you for something? This is like the easiest evangelism opportunity possible.”
A night associated with darkness can actually be an opportunity to shine the light of Christ.

clearly driven by the fact that migrant rape is unmentionable in polite society but one wonders, is the thought process:
1) a bankshot approach like: well, we can't actually address migrant rape directly bc that's racist so we'll do a ton of "consent" stuff targeted at the white native population in the hopes that will trickle down to the migrants as a general sense of "consent is really really important here, maybe i shouldn't just rape when i want to!"
or is it,
2) the lefties in charge are fully incapable of engaging with reality and so think the rape epidemic is genuinely driven by horrid irish grandparents hugging their (apparently bi-racial, lol) grandkids without consent?

This is a nice re-enactment of "talking baby scenes," popularized in films like BABY GENIUSES and LOOK WHO'S TALKING.
- The set design is large-scale to de-emphasize the size of the adult actresses here.
- The chairs are very bulky, such that the actresses seem almost swallowed by the furniture, like children.
- The wardrobe on the actresses is amorphic and a few sizes too large for them, giving the audience an increaased "small child" or "infant" impression.
- The make-up is simple and the lighting is broad, resulting in a smoothing effect on their faces, much like that of a baby.
- The final "baby" element is dialogue that ends to repeat, and at times have a circular motion. This is an interesting way of see-sawing the audience between the baby babble that the adults hear in these films, and the cohesive words heard by the babies alone.
- The "Easter egg" here is the placement of baby bottles with "UNWELL" printed on the side. It's a nice subliminal touch by the director to impress on the viewer that the babies have some kind of sickness.

Or the tax is one-time – in that case it generates revenue in just one year, and there is no incentive to leave.
