If and when Trump is impeached, just get 14-15 Republican senators to join the Dems in removing Trump.
You know that's your only way to the presidency now. Just go for it, JD.
Promise Rubio the vice presidency. He will back you!
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up.
So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us."
Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026.
There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true.
But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone.
Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were:
1) End the war
2) Focus on cost of living/inflation
3) Put America First
4) Change our relationship to Israel
Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.)
In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you.
The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.
If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest.
But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there.
I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.
A great day for Temple Worshipping Hindus!

Indians flipped Texas blue. You may not care about a racewar, but the racewar cares about you.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Indian Americans make up ~2% of Texas (~668k). Latinos (~40% of pop.) shifted strongly to Democrats after 2024 Trump gains, flipping border counties and driving 7-12 pt statewide wins, per Axios and exit data.

November 18, 2026 will be a historic day for space exploration, for technology, and for human ingenuity in general.
On this day, the Voyager-1 spacecraft will reach a distance of '1 light-day', that's around 26 billion km, from earth.
NASA's Voyager-1, one of the greatest machines ever built by humans, was launched nearly 50 years ago on September 5, 1977. For a perspective, this distance is more than 4 times that of Pluto's orbit radius around the sun.
At such a huge distance, it is still in contact with the earth and functional.
@NASA @NASAJPL
This nation deserves a better opposition.
Not this frivolous, petulant, solipsistic man-child.

The choice of Hindu-India was not given to my forefathers. Why?
Why is it always about the Indian Muslim - his feelings, his sentiments, his beliefs, his insecurities?
Partition was a decision. India is a reality. And 1947 is not a project waiting to be revived.

Even galaxies need to vent.
Because of a prior gravitational interaction with a neighboring galaxy, M82 undergoes super intense star formation.
This image shows its "exhaust system" in action, regulating the galaxy's growth by venting gas outwards. ⬇️
Our position in sports is a great indicator of the progress we have made in the last decade.
2 Asian Games in a row we have come 4th. Prior to that we were inconsistent. Sometimes 8th, sometimes 7th.
2 Asian Para Games in a row we are 4th (games are still on - but am hopeful we will hold). Again prior to that we were very inconsistent - some years not even in the top 10.
Clearly facilities, infra, money, opportunities are being made available to the talent. Progress in the right direction.

Chikmanglur 2017, while Thiru Annamalai was SP, he gave stern warning to the villagers & went on to say that he would go on to break the bones & legs of the villagers if they took the law into their hands. Also he said that the cops should not have been manhandled & held hostage. You went for lathi charge too as per the news reports.
For those who have selective amnesia and forgot how they handled protest in a small town of Chikmanglur but are ready to scrutinise the crowd managment in Delhi which is the national capital, I would just say remember your own past actions more than the words of others

In 2011, then Gujarat Chief Minister Thiru @narendramodi avl said that if his hands were not tied, he would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government. Thiru Narendra Modi avl made this statement in response to the police crackdown on the peaceful anti-corruption campaign led at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. In my opinion, what the Hon PM said then was absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong about it.
Today, you could be jailed indefinitely; your surety bonds could be rejected; and, surprisingly, a Special Executive Magistrate will play circles around you when he/ she is empowered to deal with preventive bond cases.
If you question the violation of due process of law in a democracy, you would be called names, and a barrage of attacks would follow, including being labelled a Foreign Agent.
Ever since I asked the Central Government to speak with the protestors during the NEET exam protests, I have faced constant attacks, but I let them pass because I felt it was important to focus on the issues on the ground in Tamil Nadu. I also, in a way, enjoyed this as it would quickly remove the tag of me being a BJP B Team and sent to TN as a Dhurandhar 😍
Yesterday during a press meeting, I questioned the Delhi Police’s methods of detaining protestors of CJP.
Since yesterday, the attacks have resumed, as expected. For some in the BJP, let me make this categorically clear, in case you have selective amnesia: I left the BJP on June 5, 2026.
As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important?
I would categorically say - YES.
So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism.
1.How was Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site as per a standing order of the Ministry of Home Affairs after a letter was handed over by CJP seeking permission to conduct a protest?
2.How long can we have a system that gives powers to an Asst Commissioner of Police as a Special Executive Magistrate who rules over whether to keep someone in preventive detention? The ACP of Delhi Police stands over the trial where Delhi Police is the complainant against the accused CJP. Now you know which way the wind will blow.
3.On October 19th, why did the Special Executive Magistrate, aka ACP of Delhi Police, deliberately arrive late for the bail hearing of those who were arrested from Jantar Mantar on October 13th and recuse himself, saying there is a threat to his life? Is this some kind of a joke?
4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate?
5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir?
Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this?
Definitely - NO.
Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court.
I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel.
My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)

Replying to @narendramodi
@narendramodi, June 2011:
“Mein aaj Delhi ke darbaar mein jaa karke ek bahot badi ladai chhed deta.”
Political rhetoric about launching a major fight/ confrontation in the Delhi Darbaar.
Annamalai’s translation:
Modi "would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government.”
Deliberately or otherwise, escalates the statement into something far more ominous & legally perilous. Worse, Annamalai then endorses this supposed position of waging war against the GoI.
The crackdown: Annamalai asks whether previous govts dealt with protesters this way, forcefully answering: “Like this? Definitely - NO.”
The contradiction: His very first paragraph invokes Modi’s speech, delivered a day after the brutal midnight police crackdown on sleeping protesters at Ramlila Maidan in June 2011. A year & a half later, the police response to the Nirbhaya protests included the use of water cannons against demonstrators in the December cold.
Try harder next time.
