I am one of those 6, now all ex-trustees. I had my accreditation as a breastfeeding counsellor taken from me for 'disparaging LLL' and talking to the press ^. I would be delighted to talk to @BBCWomansHour about the different ways supporting male lactation is a problem.
The aggression and vitriol we were faced with for holding a women-only march was the perfect demonstration of why it was needed #ReclaimTheNightNottingham #ReclaimTheNight
#ReclaimTheNightNottingham
Police had to escort us through the city. The streets of Nottingham are not safe for women in 2026
The words "female-only" are met with violence, intimidation and harassment
But we stayed strong and finished our march
Power to the women ♀️💜💚🤍

Imagine being in your first week of social work training and being told that some of your fellow students might be there to gain access to vulnerable children.
Shocking, right? But this social worker’s point applies anywhere adults work with children. Some people will seek out those roles for the wrong reasons. And the person whose behaviour you need to question might be the nicest person you know.
She also makes an important point about why safeguarding starts with having a clear sense of what’s normal and what isn’t. Once that boundary starts to blur, it’s easier for someone to cross it without being challenged.
I wish I’d seen this video years ago. I can think of times when something felt off and I kept quiet because I worried I might be wrong or cause offence.
Thanks @JournalistJill for highlighting it.

Dr Bell is absolutely right. I can say with 100% confidence that had the conversion bill been the law when he blew the whistle, he would have been under criminal investigation as would Sonia Appleby, Susan and Marcus Evans, Dr. Matt Bristow etc......
Dr David Bell said that if the law had been in place, it could have been used to threaten and “possibly… silence” those who raised the alarm about the gender identity clinic, which was prescribing puberty blockers to children as young as 10.

Happy days at Guardian Towers. Remind me, which columnists did Kath Viner drive out of the paper? Talcum X? Russell the Rapist? Oh, I remember now. It was the feminists. All three of us:

Remembering when a cross dressing man told me that I’m on HRT because I want to look “more womanly”
Honey, I’m on HRT so I don’t throw frozen burgers at slow people in the supermarket.

Well done @NottsRtN for organising this event.

Women were so brave in the face of abject hostility from men and women organised by Nottingham Revolutionary Communist Group. Shameful.

Our Reclaim the Night march happening tomorrow in Nottingham is not affiliated with any group, charity, organisation or individuals.
We are a collective of women from across East Mids who are restoring Reclaim the Night to its origins of being a strictly female-only event.

I don't want to shame any particular woman here, but publicly announcing that the #RussellBrand conviction must be wrong because you went home with him and he didn't rape you makes about as much sense as saying 'well, I left 25 Cromwell Street alive, so Fred West's innocent.'

My making it clear to my daughter a decade ago that she was not a boy & could never be a boy, & explaining why, was a key part of her desistance. It’s a parent’s duty to keep their kid grounded in reality. To claim that that can’t be done with love, or without damage, is crazy.
Criminalising parents who won't affirm - the first evidence session.
Our panel argued that, despite @bphillipsonMP reassurance that the draft bill will not impinge on decisions about how to parent, it risks criminalising parents who do not affirm a child’s gender identity.
The panel promoting the bill seemed to view a failure to affirm as a “conversion practice” that SHOULD be criminalised.
