We won an award at the @FdP_Florence for the premiere of Go, Friend, Go. A documentary by @BrogaDoite with animation by @brush_bow that was organised with @Border_Violence to document the situation along the so-called Balkan Route and the realities of illegal pushbacks.

Every visa (humanitarian, work, study etc) deprives one smuggling network of payment. Until a serious proposal is tabled to issue significant numbers of those, the monopoly of movement remains in the hands of smugglers.

Around 90% of irregular arrivals to the EU are exploited by migrant smugglers. Many of those smuggling networks are involved in trafficking drugs and firearms. EU and Turkey will step up cooperation to break those networks. Technical discussions will start after my Ankara visit.
