Tuesday marks the beginning of midterm election season (we have primaries in Texas, Arkansas and North Carolina). And I want to make a public service announcement: 99.9999% of people On Here have absolultely no idea what they're talking about when it comes to elections, no matter how confident they sound.

New Jersey, 2024 vs. New Jersey, 2026
Three Rs in NJ - Tom Kean, who Republicans think is going to lose no matter what. - Chris Smith, who has been in office since 1981. Tied for longest-serving lawmaker in the House. - Jeff Van Drew, who was first elected as a Democrat in 2018 and joined the GOP during Trump's first term.

By the end of this half inning, it might start looking as empty there as a normal Rays game.

That American citizens are significantly less likely to receive disaster relief if they live in states that didn't vote for the regime in power should be treated as a major scandal.
Seven months ago, there was a big conversation about whether Trump was denying blue states FEMA aid for partisan reasons. Since May, there have been 57 more disaster relief decisions. Requests from blue states are still 2.8x more likely to be rejected than from red states.

This is very interesting. @PatrickRuffini makes the (reasoinable) case for polls overestimating Dems, that this looks more like a good Dem night and not a tsunami.... ...but then he still picks them to win 52 Senate and 234 House seats! nytimes.com/interactive/2026…

Voted today! Easy, orderly process at early voting site here in Maryland. And for the most part, easy choices for me. Had to choose between a Dem NIMBY and a MAGA dudebro for County Council. Chose the former because lesser of two evils etc but not thrilled about it.

A lot of people have been noting that millions of Republicans have flocked to Florida in the past several years, meaning that even if no one's voting behavior changed, Florida will keep getting redder relative to the rest of the country. But these voters have to be coming from somewhere. Are there any close States (MI, WI, PA etc.) where an exodus of Republicans to Florida might help out the Dems?

A day later and I’m still pissed about this. What a stupid rule, to the extent it even exists.
This makes me want to quit watching football @nfl

Yeah I mean imagine if the President appointed his personal attorney as, I don’t know, trying to think of a super important job that could oversee elections. Oh, yes! Attorney General. Could you imagine that???
Can you imagine the reaction from the left if Trump appointed his personal attorney to the Supreme Court and then that Justice closed polls in Dallas, Detroit, Columbus, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Atlanta and let red counties continue voting? That’s what Lula just did in Brazil

Yes! I mean imagine the President called the person who oversees the vote in a given state and asked him to “find the votes” that would reverse the result and put him over the top. Just inconceivable in these United States!
If President Trump was losing an election then called up his former personal attorney turned Supreme Court justice to extend voting by 3 hours... All of the media would be sounding the alarm on corruption. But when fascist dictator Lula does it for Brazil the media cheers his victory.

Found another AI weakness: solving a rubiks cube. Got two rows myself after some YouTube tutorials. Tried to have ChatGPT help me finish the rest, and I went around in circles and it sucked. They can'ttake us over yet!

Laser focused on the key issues. (I love how he still cites that Harry Enten clickbait segment, which was actually just about his high approval with MAGA voters. He calls it a “CNN poll” which it is not. Enten deserves it though.)
President Trump posted a more than 1300-word rant against Bill Maher, in which he tucks in that he is “not building a swimming pool in the White House briefing room,” but is still considering moving the press out.

Everyone's getting on Purdy, but the guy who has no interceptions (Goff) just threw two straight balls to the other team that were dropped. #49ers

He believes all black votes are inherently suspect. That's all this is.
Trump already suggesting there will be “cheating” in Detroit: You got to watch all of those Detroit votes.

Well, they weren't gonna go 17-0. But this was winnable. Turnovers murdered them. #49ers

Probably wouldn't matter, but Falcons can ice it with a FG here because of Eddie P's mixed PAT.

No sugar coating that one. That was terrible. #49ers
Brock Purdy threw two of the worst interceptions you'll ever see today.
