I have no view on this guy's qualifications or the validity of his work, but plebiscite is a poor way to allocate medical research dollars
I think it's very important to realize that there is a small but quickly growing faction of the political spectrum that will cheer when
-- your family Tesla gets firebombed
-- a CEO gets executed in the street
-- a podcaster is murdered at a college debate event
-- a candidate for POTUS is shot in the head
-- the world's greatest entrepreneur is publicly threatened with execution at a fairly mainstream event

🪦 RIP California.
Just 7 minutes after polls close, @latimes calls it for @XavierBecerra over @SteveHiltonx
If true, we just witnessed a do-nothing lifetime career politician who didn’t bother campaigning defeat one of the best candidates we have seen for any office in a long time.
All of this absolutely true.

Certainly I can’t be the only tech founder and CEO willing to call bullshit publicly?!?
I thought we were past this crap.
Seriously, causing fear in people for a self serving agenda demonstrates a complete lack of ethics, integrity, and maturity.
For as far back as I remember, there has been groups of people spreading doom and gloom about something. It’s always something that is gonna kill us all, threatening humanity and life as we know it.
And it always seems as though there are some people getting famous, rich, or gaining political power as a result of spreading fear. Unfortunately, fear and negativity sells.
Now let’s talk about AI, there are in fact risks and AI is changing the environment we live in.
Environmental changes cause evolution, and evolution isn’t kind. It will disrupt people who are unprepared. It will harm people who cannot keep up. It will cause hardships for people and companies.
As a result, we need to be smart through the next decade, to help people and companies get through what is coming.
It isn’t death, it isn’t destruction. Rather it is a change of thinking and lifestyle that will also come with benefits and advances in medicine, science, energy, quality of life. But to get there, we will have to recognize changes are coming.
We are already seeing many of these changes and both the negative and positive effects of it.
Let’s take the accelerated cyber security issues we are seeing. I’ve spent most of my career managing critical and large scale software infrastructure and now my company is deep in the weeds solving a lot of these issues.
Our entire software stack, that everyone depends on, contains hundreds of millions of lines of code written and audited by people. And we’ve missed bugs. A lot of bugs. Not blaming people, we’ve done the best we can and it’s been great, but the fact is we have lots of software bugs that can be used by malicious hackers.
And now AI is shining a light on these bugs. It’s pointing out the problems and helping us find the solutions at an accelerating rate. As a result, we are seeing increasing velocity of security matters. And it will get worse before it gets better as there is still a lot to uncover.
Companies need to be preparing for this now. They need to be hiring experts and gurus and partnering with companies that will help them through this.
But the long term result? We will end up with a better software infrastructure layer. Betterment is the result of evolution, and that is what we are going to see across the ecosystem. Jobs, science, decisions, everything will be affected by the same curve. A “J” curve. Things will get harder before they get better.
Ironically the doom agenda on this helps my own company because we secure the infrastructure. But at the same time, I’m literally saying this will get better over time, things will normalize again.
The advances in science, software, medicine, energy, and quality of life will increase, and we are already seeing the evidence of that in research today.
So please, let’s be mature adults here. Let’s consider the hardships we are going to be facing, and come up with plans and mitigations to help get us all get to the better place.
Fear mongering ends up distracting us from managing the real effects of AI disruption to people and companies.

I’m upping the bounty to $750. Find me a traveling nurse living in a Seattle RV.
In order to collect, they must be willing to talk about their hardship on camera and also show proof of employment at a hospital.

🚨 BREAKING: Seattle's Socialist Mayor @MayorofSeattle just VETOED a City Council bill aimed at cracking down on homeless RV encampments.
The legislation would have required permits, restricted overnight parking, and pushed RV residents toward shelter. Those who repeatedly refused appropriate shelter offers could lose their permits and face enforcement.
Councilmember Dan Strauss says Wilson PROMISED not to veto the bill, then broke that promise.
Once again, instead of prioritizing the safety and concerns of Seattle residents, the socialist mayor continues to side with criminals, drug addicts, and the severely mentally ill over law and order.

💸 According to @XavierBecerra the “hard work” includes a new mileage tax, adding to the transpiration affordability crisis.
May those who blindly voted for him learn their errors the hard way as they find out EVERY road is now a toll road!

At least you’re consistently tone deaf. 🤦🏻♂️
Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that’s created safer streets, more money in Americans’ pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead. After fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn, we prevented the largest tax hike in American history, secured our border in an unprecedented way, confirmed the president’s Cabinet at the fastest pace in two decades, and put strong conservative judges on benches across the country faster than we have since the Reagan administration. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve done for the American people, and I’m looking forward to the important work we have in front of us over the next few months. As we head into 2027, Senate Republicans will not stand idly by as the far-left, socialist wing of the Democrat Party attempts to unwind everything we’ve done. Thankfully, we still have President Trump in the White House, and we’ll work with him to stop the worst impulses of Democrat extremism. We cannot let their fringe positions become the mainstream.

And collectively $12.8B was spent on advertising during this election cycle by all candidates, making it the most expensive in US history.
So $500M, or 3.9%, is what now??
PJ Pesce retweeted
OK let’s imagine that! $500M would fund Medicare for exactly 4 hours. Hospital closed by lunch.
Medicare costs us $1.2T a year. Thats $2.7B per day. You people literally have no clue how anything works. You elect people who are financially illiterate, and everything gets worse.

If you sponsor this podcast, calling for the execution of Elon Musk, I will never use your product… and will buy from both of your top two competitors
This is unacceptable and dangerous.

The Rosenbergs gave nuclear secrets to the Soviet Union.
What capital offense did @elonmusk commit, @profgalloway?
Real question.
Scott Galloway calls Elon Musk a "traitor to the West" and invokes the executions of the Rosenbergs after WW2.
"We lined up the Rosenbergs against a wall. This is a traitor to the West, and he should be held to the same standards as every other traitor in the West."

Mayor Wilson says the RV permit would hurt “traveling workers like nurses.”
We have spent six years and thousands of interactions with people living in RVs on Seattle streets. Not once has it been a traveling nurse. Not once.
Travel nurses have housing stipends. They’re not the ones parked for months in industrial zones with the trash, needles, and open drug use we clear every week.
The one-time census and permit is for the actual street population. Using traveling nurses as a reason to kill it is not serious.
People will do what they’re allowed to do. Right now Seattle is telling the region it’s fine to roll in and park an RV wherever you want. That has to stop.
We Heart Seattle is ready to run this as a private-public partnership. We’ve already shown what works: cleanups, direct intervention, and real pathways to recovery and self-sufficiency, without the city bureaucracy.
@MayorofSeattle the status quo is failing neighborhoods and at the worst children and women who are often trafficked in these dilapidated RVs. @SeattleCouncil
