Great analogy. However, in reality, some people panic & guess what to do; changing anything, some blame the plant or the environment & some just replace it. Great coaching is identifying the source & influencing the required change. 'Don't tell me; show me' – at South West, England

Lots of ‘pressing’ practices have 2/3 players chase the ball in a small area against 5/6 stationary opponents who have to get a number of passes then switch play to another box for players to chase again - this replicates very little of the coordinated skills of ‘pressing’ 🧵

“When they come off the pitch…tell them how good they’ve done…and did they enjoy it. End of!”
Simple. Yet so many still shout, bawl, offer inappropriate advice, commentate, shout at referees, etc. Please. Just let them play.

Technical Moves Story
I asked Johan If he knew he had a move named after him to which he replied…
“Yes, but it wasn’t a move; it was a solution. I never practiced it.”
It was a SOLUTION in context!
