It literally does the opposite of raising class consciousnes . It sets workers up for demoralization and disaster.

this is a tweet for liberals, written by a liberal
If you are actually a socialist, you need to understand that small democratic victories are essential for teaching the masses class consciousness. Keep the momentum instead of demonizing those participating in local elections. You too should be doing the same, anyways.

Another reason not to be a liberal: it ruins you and makes you miserable
U are a terrible person and deserve every bad thing that happens to you

and as we all know, capitalism and imperialism are both exactly the same as when Marx was alive, meaning the analysis and conclusions haven't changed at all. extra funny because the civil war was famously a peaceful revolution.
Massive cope. If Marx was alive today you guys would call him a liberal. Bro said peaceful revolution was possible, fervently opposed organizing around ideological unity, and personally wrote a letter to Lincoln praising him. You guys are anarchists who LARP as Marxists

I love they didn't elaborate on what those "things" are. I fail to see how funding a genocide, supporting a NATO proxy war, tightening borders and vilifying immigrants - all things elected officials do - will somehow bring us closer to socialism.

of course this dumbass is an economist 🤣 explains why he doesn't realize he's brainwashed by capitalist ideology. the astrology for dudes he does is literally just fiction and resentment so why wouldn't he project that onto people who understand political economy?

Bakunin worked *against* Marx in the 1st International. he was also a disgusting antisemite and a fat cuckold. he thought the state was the main evil, whereas Marx knew it was capitalism. Bakunin didn't even understand political economy, much less Marx's work.
Bakunin was more familiar with Marx's Marxism and what Marx "really meant" than any of us will ever be. He knew the man personally, translated Capital and the Manifesto, and worked with him in the 1st International.

it also led to disproportionate southern domination of national politics and the extension of slavery into new states, and prevented the abolition of slavery until the civil war. it is one of the most antidemocratic features of the US system.
Giving each state two senators is rationalized after the fact by the idea that small-population states should have equal representation. In fact the system led to the *creation* of small-population states, by partisan majorities in Congress, in order to stack the Senate.

imagine being this naive and committed to electoralism
Because elected officials can still do things to get us closer to socialism. Or at the VERY LEAST do other good things that people with socialist values are more likely to do, like stop support for Israel.
