The cost of capping rates sooner than required (as some at WCC are pushing) is a reduced ability to borrow to repair our already failing infrastructure. I’m yet to see an argument to justify the rush to meet a rates cap before we have to thepost.co.nz/nz-news/361086…

Christopher Luxon lied to Parliament. He said Labour had turned down the South Dunedin Future Programme last year. In fact Nicola Willis signed off its “discontinuation” in a Treasury briefing dated 23 May 2024. When will they own the consequences of their own decisions?

Bristol, we made history💚
Thank you so much to the people of Bristol Central who have elected me as their MP
As this city's first Green MP, I promise to be a strong, independent voice for Bristol's values, pushing the govt to be bolder on the issues that matter

In 2010 the whole of the public sector made up 19.7% of NZ’s total workforce. In 2023 it made up 18.8%. Claims there has been an explosion in the public sector are pure spin to justify sacking hard working Kiwis to pay for unaffordable tax cuts. This govt has the wrong priorities

Kinda a bit jealous that Pukehinau/Lambton ward dwellers get to flex their democratic muscle for the third time since 2022. You've got less than 24hrs to do it though (and give @grogersxyz a #1)

Former union organiser here. These payments exist for a couple of reasons. The first is because often Māori are expected to undertake cultural duties without it being part of their job. These payments mean you can provide te ao Māori support in house for cheaper than contracting
