Aren't all these '10 Greatest Novels' lists actually 'My Personal Favourite Novels' lists? Can there be a definitive and subjective 'greatest novel' when the purpose of literature is to touch personally?

If the constitution has had amendments, it is not by definition, constitutional to continue to amend it?
Sally Field memorized the First Amendment as a child. The Oscar winner says she now understands "it like never before," stressing that "this fragile thing called democracy needs to be protected."

Reading 'Blood Meridian' is better in 31 degree heat. Starting to think books should come with a recommended temperature e.g. 'Frankenstein' at -2. #booktwt

Same problem here with Cormac McCarthy - six similes in ten sentences, imagery that seems nonsensical, words like 'incandescent'. And he once used an em dash.

I know - and that's the problem. Everytime I try to read it, these people who live in my house try to distract me from it with their cries for food and affection.
If you have a book with you, you’re never alone.
