Who wants us to fight against Zion? In the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, the Lord speaks about His covenant with Abraham's children more than 250 times. Again and again He promises to remember the house of Israel, to gather them, and to protect them. And again and again He warns those who fight against them. To Abraham He said, "I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee" (Genesis 12:3; Abraham 2:11). Nephi taught that every nation that wars against the house of Israel will be turned against itself (1 Nephi 22:14). Isaiah promised, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). Why repeat it so many times? I believe the Lord knew a day would come when opposing Israel and the Jews would become popular, right when we are called to help gather Zion. So it's worth asking: Who wants Zion gathered? And who wants us to fight against it? We live in a time of disinformation, and it isn't always easy to know what's true. That's why we need discernment, and why we can rest on the perfect integrity of God. He keeps His promises. Let's be found on the side of His covenant. – at Herriman, UT
