Which tells us they are worried about something else and it ain’t education. My theory: If prop 1 passes, it proves that the majority of Wyomingites are still strong conservatives that believe in limited/small government. These groups, like WEA and NEA, can’t have that. They thrive on the government teat. Same goes for all of the attacks on Bextel. It has nothing to do with her winning this election (chances are pretty small). It’s about the chance of a conservative third party becoming a major party. That would destroy the cross over game that the establishment and leftists have been playing on our primary for decades. As I have said before, if both of these things happen, I’ll consider this year a win. Regardless of what BS the establishment, leftist groups, and media pulled during this last primary.

That being said, the leftist education (state and national) spent at least $2.4 million to push increased taxes on all of Wyomingites. Who knows how much more dark money was spent in our election.

Families have watched their tax bills rise far faster than their incomes. At the same time, Wyoming maintains substantial rainy-day balances. Using some of that strength to ease the burden on homeowners while helping local governments adjust is not reckless. It is the purpose of reserves.
There is no automatic full backfill written into Proposition 1, which is common for citizen initiatives. The Legislature retains the power to prioritize and appropriate. Wyoming is not scrambling for pennies. It maintains one of the nation’s strongest reserve positions relative to operating costs.
