Solana ain’t waiting around for Q-Day.
Right after shipping Alpenglow (~150ms finality), Solana devs dropped Quantumglow: a research design swapping in hash-based signatures for validators, keeping the chain quantum-resistant without killing that speed.
Future quantum computers could crack standard crypto and fake validator votes. The catch? Quantum-proof signatures are usually heavy and murder network throughput.
Quantumglow works around that bloat. It's still in research and only covers validators for now (wallets come later), but hardening the consensus layer before the threat arrives is the move.
What would Solana’s consensus look like in a post-quantum world?
Meet Quantumglow: a proposed adaptation of Alpenglow that aims to protect consensus while preserving fast finality.
@jacobvcreech and @qkniep explain how it works. Full video below👇

Quantumglow.
Solana has been early in quantum readiness and remains ahead in its preparation.

Alpenglow is now live on Solana mainnet. ⛰️
Finality just went from ~12.8 seconds to ~150ms.
The biggest consensus upgrade in Solana’s history, built by @anza_xyz.

EAPES, without a doubt is my favorite OG NFT project that started out on @MultiversX and has been successful on @solana also. One of my favorite underrated trait is the Hippie T-shirt, which totally flows with our “Vibe with the tribe” theme. 🤙
Check out our complete @EAPESCLUB ecosystem which also supports decentralization by running our own validator nodes @eapesvalidator
