- you can use numbers, upper case, lower case, special characters
- you are not limited to 4 letters per word
- you can change your phrases later if you change your setup, because you are not physically punching metal
Some people do not like the moving parts and prefer metal plates.
Consider the trade offs.

## Investigación 1 — La verdadera primera víctima pública
### Pregunta
¿Cuál es el primer reporte público localizable de una víctima que afirmó que sus fondos habían sido drenados?
### Hallazgos
**Primer reporte público ampliamente documentado y con tracción:**
- **Fecha y hora:** 30 de julio de 2026
**13:19 UTC**
- **Plataforma:** Reddit (r/Bitcoin)
- **Usuario:** u/s1ammage
- **Título:** “Full panic - one of my wallets was drained”
- **Enlace original:** reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comment…
- **Monto reportado:** ~0.79 BTC
- **Modelo mencionado:** Coldcard Mk3 (comprada en mayo 2021)
- **Detalles del setup:** Seed generada en el dispositivo, nunca conectada a PC, watch-only en Sparrow, fondos de Roth IRA (Solera National Bank + Swan Bitcoin).
**Nota importante sobre posibles reportes anteriores:**
- Según el dashboard comunitario coldcard-hack.up.railway.app, existe un reporte anónimo a una base de datos de abuse **el 30 de julio a las 09:15 UTC** (aproximadamente 19.96 BTC). Este reporte no es público en foros y no generó discusión comunitaria.
- Jonathan Goodman (@itscoachgoodman) reportó públicamente el 31 de julio que le drenaron ~18.25 BTC el 29 de julio (hora local norteamericana), pero su post público es posterior al de Reddit.
- No se han localizado reportes públicos verificables en X, Bitcointalk, Nostr o Hacker News **anteriores** al hilo de Reddit de u/s1ammage que hayan generado tracción o hayan sido citados como el primero.
**Conclusión actual:**
El hilo de u/s1ammage en Reddit, es el primer reporte público de víctima con impacto real y documentado en la comunidad.

## Investigación 2 — El primer investigador on-chain
### Pregunta
¿Quién fue la primera persona que observó públicamente el patrón de consolidación de cientos de UTXOs hacia las mismas direcciones?
### Hallazgos
- El comentario más temprano documentado que identifica el patrón de consolidación aparece **en el propio hilo de Reddit** de u/s1ammage, pocas horas después de su publicación (alrededor de las 15:23 UTC del 30 de julio).
- Usuario del comentario: u/Hoax__
- Contenido clave: Identifica la dirección `bc1qnk4zh9qcnap2mycp56qjrgza3cc8ylrh8fecp0` como receptora de ~594 BTC de ~500 direcciones en una ventana de 15 minutos.
**Posteriormente:**
- Clay Garrett (@clay_garrett) de @blocks es quien publica el análisis técnico más influyente del patrón (fee fija de 30 sat/vB, sin change, etc.), pero sus posts públicos son del **31 de julio**.
- @glxyresearch publica el mapeo completo basándose en el patrón identificado por Block.
**Conclusión actual:**
El primer señalamiento público del patrón de consolidación masiva hacia una dirección única parece ser el comentario de u/Hoax__ en el hilo de Reddit del 30 de julio. Clay Garrett y Block realizaron el análisis forense más sólido y público al día siguiente.

Instead of shitting on NVK and co, please make sure your fellow bitcoiners are OK.
Contact the ones are your local meetup, those you know are physically around you, etc.
They may have lost EVERYTHING, and they need human support, from people who understand.
They won't manage to get help from non-bitcoiners, who just see it as monopoly money, or "was being lucky, now unlucky".

Okey you midwits I keep hearing about @Tangem hardware wallet as being great, which is bullshit.
Here's 4 reasons why and 3 better alternatives:
🚫 It’s closed source, you need to completely trust the firmware that creates the keys on the chip. They could use a predefined list of keys and steal your funds years down the line in a long con attack and you’d never know it was them.
🚫 It’s a closed ecosystem: it doesn’t have a seed phrase so you can’t move the key to another wallet/brand, only to other Tangem cards. Great for business, not so great for “openness”. Vendor lock-in is terrible, especially in security.
🚫 It uses “blind signing” on the card, because the cards have no screens you can’t see what you are signing so you must trust your mobile device which is hot & potentially dangerous because your phone is easily hackable. It might show you the right transaction but then send a faulty one to the card and you can’t do cold verification that you’re sending your funds off to a hacker.
🚫 No seed phrase also doesn’t let you create a fireproof backup, you must spread the keys over different locations and many won’t do that.
EACH of these reasons are red flags and make it fall outside the realm of considerations.
Overall it’s built for convenience (why it’s popular), not security, with dangerous tradeoffs and muchbetter alternatives:
- @satochip with its Seedkeeper card
- @era_wallet wallet, fantastic device and workflow (besides the initial firmware download)
- The brandnew @Keycard_ which is fully open-source, no blind signing and even has 3D print files available.
There's 1 reason why people buy Tangem, the same reason they buy Ledger:
IGNORANCE.
