In 2024, Prez @MMuizzu said 2025 would be a housing budget. 2years later, he's announcing 2027 as yet another housing budget
Here's what I can find ol about the previous two?
- 2025 1.8 billion allocated for housing projects, only 204.5 million was spent. Barely 11%
- September this year, Finance Min figures show just 273 million spent on housing
Now we're being promised another
3 billion
while families are spending most of what they earn just to survive. Too many young people are putting their lives on pause, waiting for affordable homes
We deserve to know why money allocated for housing isn't being used.

Earlier, the Housing Minister described it as a “tourism project” for which liquor licences would be issued in meetings with ilmuveringe gulhun too . Meanwhile, posters circulated by PNC supporters claimed that, as a residential project, it would also include educational facilities.
It now appears those plans have changed.
My earlier articles were based on those statements, which is why I wrote that liquor would be sold and facilities such as schools would be developed.
If that is no longer the case, I stand corrected.

Gathul-aanmu is not genocide.
In international legal instruments, they are referred to as two distinct crimes.
The same distinction exists in the Dhivehi language:
Genocide: Naslu-heydhu
Mass killing: Gathul-aanmu
AG's unfamiliarity with these basic definitions and concepts while attempting to justify the bill demonstrates that its true intent is not the domestication of the convention.
Rather, it is seen as an attempt to officially ban "antisemitism," disguised as "just trying to keep up with international law after 42 years".
Also, the elements of the crime of genocide as prescribed in the Genocide Convention are not properly included in the submitted bill. Meaning, it's not really meant to keep up with the convention.

Dhaandhoo MP Mohamed Fazeel, immediately after a meeting on Rasmale, made two astonishing statements:
1. The RasMale agreement need not be made public because an agreement between two individual parties is a private affair.
2. Not even a Terms Sheet Agreement has been signed yet.
This is coming from an MP immediately after an info session on the very issue.
Dear PNC, Rasmale is a matter of enormous national and political significance. At the very least, educate your MPs on the basics before sending them out to confuse the public further and fuel even more public outrage.
