Wyoming told adults they could buy food from neighbors. Eggs. Bread. A share of a herd. Direct. Local. Adult. The part that still won’t move is federal meat policy. A ranch gate gets treated like a hazard. A multinational packing plant gets treated like a virtue. You can buy imported mystery ground beef with a barcode. Buying from the guy who raised it still means a maze. That’s not “food safety.” That’s a bottleneck with lobbyists. Fix the Federal Meat Inspection Act for producers who sell direct — or stop pretending the speech was for ranchers.

In this episode of American Potential, host @davidfrom sits down with Knox County Mayor @GlennJacobsTN to discuss Operation Hero’s Hill, a program bringing students, businesses, government, and the community together to help homeless veterans. Students from 11 local high schools studying the skilled trades built 20 tiny homes that will provide veterans with safe, stable housing. Along the way, students gained hands-on experience working with industry mentors and developing skills in trades where employers desperately need the next generation of workers. Mayor Jacobs also shares how the community came together to make the project possible, the government barriers they had to overcome, and the additional services veterans will have access to as they move into their new homes. He and David also discuss the growing opportunities in the skilled trades and why programs like this can create a win for students, veterans, businesses, and the entire community.

There are now 8 “green” surcharges on electric bills. Billions of dollars in green energy scams I did a FOIA with the Illinois Commerce Commission to find out how that money was spent. Got the result this week. The couldn’t account for a single dime.

Twenty-five years after the September 11 attacks, American Potential host @davidfrom sits down with @JohnByrnes13, Strategic Director for @ConcernedVets, to remember the day that changed America and reflect on its lasting impact. John was a college student and National Guard soldier in New York City when the attacks began. He recalls hearing the sirens racing toward Lower Manhattan, watching the first tower collapse, and immediately reporting to his armory. By that evening, John and his fellow soldiers were providing security near Ground Zero, where he would spend nearly two weeks alongside police officers, firefighters, and other first responders during the rescue and recovery efforts. John also shares how 9/11 changed the direction of his own life, eventually leading to deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. He and David reflect on the thousands of lives lost, the Americans who answered the call to serve, and the extraordinary unity that swept across the country in the days and weeks following the attacks. Twenty-five years later, John looks back at the lessons of that day, the decisions America made in its aftermath, and why remembering our history remains essential to the country's future.

I wonder if Pritzker will be confronted with this appalling story during his next press availability? $78M spent and ZERO work done.

Our ability to build in America has been all but halted thanks to excessive regulation, frivolous lawsuits, and a bureaucratic environment that rewards inaction. I had a great conversation with @davidfrom for the @AMPotentialPod on how to help America build again – thanks for having me! youtube.com/watch?v=rUW566uk…

In this episode of American Potential, host @davidfrom sits down with Dana Hollifleld, a nurse with over 20 years of experience, to discuss how government policies are impacting healthcare workers and patients alike. After working in multiple states, Dana noticed a stark difference when she arrived in Alabama—limited job options, suppressed wages, and reduced patient choice due to hospital monopolies reinforced by certificate of need (CON) laws. Instead of accepting the status quo, she took action—organizing her peers, demanding transparency, and pushing for change. Her efforts helped secure pay raises for healthcare workers and sparked a broader movement to challenge restrictive regulations that limit competition and innovation in healthcare. This episode highlights how one person’s decision to speak up can create real change—and why expanding choice and transparency in healthcare is critical for better outcomes for both patients and providers.

Here’s a strong title and description for this episode: In this episode of American Potential, host @davidfrom sits down with @SenArmstrong to discuss one of the biggest barriers to American growth: the broken permitting process. Drawing on decades of experience in the energy industry, Senator Armstrong explains how excessive regulation, legal challenges, and bureaucratic overlap have made it nearly impossible to build critical infrastructure—even when projects are already completed. From billion-dollar pipelines being shut down to states blocking interstate energy projects, he highlights the real-world consequences for energy costs, reliability, and national security. The conversation also explores key legislation like the SPEED Act and the PERMIT Act, and why meaningful reform requires more than surface-level fixes. Armstrong shares his perspective on what policymakers often get wrong—and why now is a critical moment to get it right. This episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at how policy decisions shape America’s ability to build, compete, and thrive—and why fixing permitting is essential to the country’s future.
