Lots of discussion about Lusk in Poland. Anyone looked at this guy: Radosław Tomasz “Radek” Sikorski? Born 23 February 1963 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. He is a Polish politician, former journalist, and statesman. He has served as Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs since December 2023 (in Donald Tusk’s government) and as Deputy Prime Minister since July 2025. He previously held the Foreign Minister post from 2007 to 2014, making him the longest-serving person in that role. Sikorski grew up in Bydgoszcz. In March 1981, while still in high school, he chaired the local student strike committee in response to the Bydgoszcz events during the Solidarity period. In June 1981 he left for the UK to study English; after martial law was imposed in Poland that December, he was granted political asylum in Britain (1982). He studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) at Pembroke College, Oxford, earning BA and MA degrees (graduating around 1986). He acquired British citizenship in 1987 and held it until 2006 when appointed Polish Defence Minister. From 1986 to 1989 he worked as a war correspondent and freelance journalist for British outlets including The Observer, The Spectator, and The Sunday Telegraph. He reported from Afghanistan where he never mentioned anything about the opium aspect of the Afghanistan war or the CIA's training camps in Pakistan. In Angola where the CIA was funding UNITA illegally via South Africa and Israel but that never made any of his reporting nor did the corruption of the UNITA leadership. He later worked as a correspondent and, around 1989–1992, represented Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation in Poland. He couldn't possibly be part of Mockingbird, could he? Sikorski entered government service after returning to Poland: 1992: Deputy Minister of National Defence (Jan Olszewski government); helped initiate Poland’s NATO accession efforts. 1998–2001: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (Jerzy Buzek government). 2002–2005: Resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., and executive director of the New Atlantic Initiative. The New Atlantic Initiative hosted the event produced the Declaration of Prague on Atlantic Principles, which stressed the unbreakable political, economic, and moral link between America and Europe and called for NATO enlargement plus a Transatlantic Free Trade Area.⁠ John O’Sullivan (then editor of National Review) is credited as the founder. Early leadership included Edward Streator (former U.S. ambassador to the OECD) as chairman, O’Sullivan and AEI president Christopher DeMuth as co-chairmen, and Jeffrey Gedmin as executive director. It was formally established as a public policy research center in June 1996, headquartered at AEI. 2005–2007: Minister of National Defence (under Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz and Jarosław Kaczyński); also elected Senator. He is a Senior Fellow at Harvard’s Center for European Studies and has been listed among *Foreign Policy* magazine’s Top 100 Global Thinkers (notably for “speaking the truth, even when it is not diplomatic”).
