Schumer contributed to the inaction which enabled Trump’s unhinged and irresponsible policies. When it was time to stand up for America, he sat down and wrote a strongly worded letter. When Americans were slain in the streets, when our economy was decimated by a grifter enriching himself and his friends, when women’s rights were being throttled, Schumer wrung his hands. Picking other people to lead does not make one a leader; leading does. He has had chance after chance to protect voters. He protected only his position. In doing so, he’s forfeited any moral claim to it. He should step aside.
